Guest IB Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 I have learned that worms resistant to some of the commonly-used antimicrobials are causing concern amongst medics. I used to get a pigeon tea Dufke Elite which contained something like 5 herbal wormers, (B&R did it, but doesn't seem to now). The Sunday name for these wormers are Vermifuges or Antihelminths. Some websites give a rating (number out of 5) for taste and effectiveness, unfortunately they are 'human use' websites. The Herbs / Seeds are:- Garlic St Johns Wort .............................taste 2, effectiveness 4 Tansy (Tanacetum) Wormwood ..............................taste 1, effectiveness 3 Oregano Thyme Safflower (seed) ...........................taste 4, effectiveness 3 Pumkin (seed) Gingko biloba ..............................taste 5, effectiveness 5 Aloe Vera ..............................taste 1, effectiveness 5 Holland & Barrett have a 1/2 price sale on St Johns Wort (30ml £2.17) Gingko biloba (30ml £4.49) and Aloa Vera (540ml £2.66). The label says 1ml contains equivalent of 500mg plant extract) Quite cheap, 3 wormers for less than £10, when Meditech do Wormwood 100ml for £4. While I have found several easily available herbal and seed wormers, I can't find the next important bit of information - solution strength and duration of 'treatment', although the human maximum is given on the labels. Any ideas?

REDCHEQHEN Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Aloe Vera Juice Great for use in birds and animals. Aloe stimulates the immune system, kills some viruses. Repairs, coats the entire gastric system like a liquid bandage. Over 300 aloe juices on the market but only a few are processed to enhance the immune potential. The Mucopoly Saccharide count (MPS) should be between 10,000 and 14,000. Don’t be fooled by cheap imitators-organic, cold pressed, cold processed. The whole leaf contains 200 regenerating nutrients such as amino acids, vitamins, minerals; these are easily absorbed into the gastric system. Yellow sap is removed, hence will not cause loose droppings. Add 1 tablespoon per gallon to drinking water once or twice a week. Thats an American gallon IB http://www.foyspigeonsupplies.com/catalog/4004.html
