DOVEScot Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 just bought tub of garlic and honey from equine products uk anybody know the dosage for pigeons thanx Is it already mixed together, personally we add cloves to the water and let them sit over night and a 5ml spoon to 1tr of any money. Chick bought Manuka honey at £30 a jar and gave some to the pigeons :'( :'( :'(
jimmy white Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 i dont think there is a specific dose, as such,, if you feel this will be beneficial to them, i should imagine, a couple of teaspoons mixed in a cup of warm water, then poured into the drinker, would certainly do them no harm,,,, but with too much in the water, they simply wont drink it

ally mac Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 In using glucose, fructose, or say honey, it is important not to use them day after day. The reason is that many yeasts and moulds, as well as innocent and dangerous strains of bacteria, also use the sugars for their own life processes, including reproduction. Yeasts or moulds, if in the precence of these sugars for too many days, can multiply extensivley and begin to invade the wall of the crop and other organs where they can cause serious illness and death. For these reasons, it is best to use sugars for one or twa days at the most. I read this in "Vets tips for fanciers" by Dr. Zsolt Talabar. Al.
