Guest marvin Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 just a quick one for a good friend of mine he has young ones in the nest about 7 days old and is getting very watery droppings on the floor only, the birds look good and handle well so ive asked about cocci, worms,he is also feeding maples only, in the trough and pots in the boxes i have suggested that it may be the weather but there is little change in the loft temp between night and day anyone having the same problems or can think of any thing else let me know because he is a born worryer thanks.....marvin
Tony C Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 marvin could it be that they're gorging down excessive ammounts of grit/minerals? I would remove these from the loft and see if there's any change.
T_T Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Agree with Tony C. It should stop them getting the squirts and soaking the floor.
carl Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 marvin you say on the floor only so the youngbirds are ok,make sure he is feeding the parents as much as they want three times a day if he can,let them have 10 mins with the food then remove it untill next feeding time.Make sure the young are getting what food they need and the parents also.
