red schalie Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I have the Slateys, Red Schalies and Slatey Mealies. My Janssen family are based on the Red Schalie lines from the seventies through a famous stock cock of the time called Schalie Bange bred at the Ponderosa and owned by Haywood lofts. The reason they prevail in my stock and race team is this line still produces open class winners. My avator is one of my best stock hens Cleopatra direct daughter of Schalie Bange mother of a Gold Medal winner and a Carwinner for me her blood runs through many open class winners throughout the UK. I do have a small stud and I have them available most rounds throughout the season. Regards Bob Pickering
hotrod Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I HAVE A (SLATE RED HEN THATS WHAT IT SAY'S ON THE PEDIGREE) I WOULD CALL IT A BARLESS MEALY.bred by dave delea its off a cock that won 9th open and 10th open from 600 miles plus as a yearling the dam is was 3rd open and 4th open from similar distance's as a yearling as well, BOTH WERE INBRED G/SON G/ DTR BARCELONA BILLY he was the same colour a slate red .I ALSO had a dtr of cambell&francy's classic connection that was a slatey i think if i can remember right that the sire of northbound was a slatey as well he was the sire of my hen , but when the news broke about the cheating thing i caught it in mid air as it was wild and sent it to the big loft in the sky along with its offspring.
