We recently found an injured white pigeon out in the yard, we presume it was attacked by a cat.

It doesn't appear to have any visable injuries, but it is top-heavy and cannot seem to stand.  We have given it some vitamins.

The bird is drinking and eating just a bit.

Droppings are a greenish-yellow color.

The bird is tagged AU 2007 FTW 738.

Any advice on what might be wrong with it?  It's all white and very tame, we presume it may be someone's pet.

How do you know it was injured then without any apparent signs?,so could it be carrying a disease instead? or just flown out/exhausted?,without its history which obviously you won't have it's very hard to tell so it's abit more down to guess work, well done for taking him or her in though,I wish more people had your compassion.I think you have done the right thing giving the vitamins, perhaps abit of honey and or glucose in his water and try to tempt him/her to eat as much as poss, abit of red band or small seed and or a few unsalted peanuts, just generally keep him calm and quiet and try and build him up with a good rest and some high energy food as mentioned above, don't recognise the ring prefix so don't know who to report it to,hopefully someone on here will know,it's obviously only a yearling though,I would think it would need a few days at least to recover his strength,if he hasn't after say a week then I would be starting to think that there was some sort of more serious problem with the bird,I know from my experience that when I get a very tame bird in it generally means it belongs to a good fancier who spends alot of time with his/her birds so whoever owns it may well be grateful for your efforts, good luck

Thanks, yes, we are in Indiana, and mother speculated that it might be from around fort wayne.

We tried to call, no response, but we have left an email.

Here's to hoping the pigeon can go home.

Well, I bear sad news, when we went to check on her at 5 this morning, she was dead.

Thank you all for your support, you're wonderful people.
