bobtail Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 burn your loft i think that would be best
OLDYELLOW Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 cocci is a bacteria that is natural and is present in the bowel low levels are passed through the birds but during infections these bacterias can multiplty due to abnormal behaviour in the gut , if you feeding a high percentage or 100% wheat / barley this can also cause wet droppings
Guest 67ghirl Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 swimming with green gooy mess You really should get the 'droppings' and/or birds tested tested..............and quickly!

OLDYELLOW Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 old yellow how can you put this can be so many things ?????????????? suppose i can give a rough idea to the cause and cocci is distinguished by wet droppings , however it could be a number of things like previous posting moving birds pairing up , screening your birds droppings would be the next step rather than running for a medicine bottle
Guest kev d Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 have you changed your feed , have they been picking about out side , i would not feed them for 24 hrs and then give them some bicarbinate of soda one heaped tea spoon in there drinker , then a light feed of barley with some vits in the water put some red stone grit down it firms the droppings up , but check your food and where you keep it . check for vermin getting in , bleach your drinkers make sure every thing is clean . cheers kev
bobtail Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 i still think burning is your best option

Guest IB Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 swimming with green gooy mess Are these your young birds and have they any other symptoms?
Guest IB Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 T W A T I think 'burning' means flaming the floor, not burning the loft down.
OLDYELLOW Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 burning wont cure the birds may prevent to a certain extent
bobtail Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 yes ib drying the floor with a gas torch for a start that is what i ment to say
bobtail Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 burning kills all the cocci eggs and that is a good start
