Guest triballofts Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Not being sarcastic my friend, but all strains of pigeons are a mixture of different pigeons, no such think as a pure strain ;) hi i know you not m8 and i know all pigeons are a mix most have jannsen in :) :)
Guest Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 hi i know you not m8 and i know all pigeons are a mix most have jannsen in :) :) Yes there is a big possibility of that. Unfortunately no one is 100% sure of the origin of the Janssen strain but it did contain blood from Ulens, Wegges, Gits and one bird from Mons Fabry known as the "Halve Fabry"
Guest triballofts Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 yes mate you can go on forever with them all carnt you i was trying to find what were in the lambrechts to see if they were any good to cross with the vanreets :) :)
Guest Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I will check through my books "The History of the Belgian Strains" by Jules Gallez and let you know what I find out

Guest Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Hope this helps Ferdi Lambrechts (age 57) and Marcel Lismont (age 58) have been in partnership since 1970. They are brothers-in-law, but when it comes to the pigeons, Marcel is without any doubt the captain of the team. Our friends are convinced that everything starts in the breeding loft, and that is why the breeding loft gets a lot of attention. The base is formed by the following names: Jan Grondelaers (Opglabeek), Grommaar Verbruggen (Kaggevinne), Jos Deno (Leefdaal), Deraedt-Van Grembergen (Gentbrugge), Jef, Luo en Nadia Houben (Itegem), Remi Hoebrechts (Hoeilaart), Roger Persoons (Halen), Louis De Weerdt (Kessel), Walter Van Durme (Borsbeke), Maurice Voets (Kessel).
glencameron Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 lenwadebob This is the partnership of Lambrechts-Lismont of Kortenaken Brabant you are referring too. Good all round fliers. Unfortunately one of the partners died last year. This is different to the Lambrechts of Berlaar, who are doing well in the UK at present. Numerous strains have been mentioned as the base of these but I would say if you consider the Dillen is the base stock pigeon then it is fair to say Dillen is the base. Dillen has a number of Schellens pigeons amongst others (and to be honest I can’t say what line the De Dillen of Lambrechts represents). Lambrechts have pigeons from a number of Berlaar fanciers like Karl Mollen; but the UK fanciers tend to be happier with standard reponse such as they are Jansen base etc.
Guest Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Thanks for that I was unsure of which Lambrecht Triballofts was referring to, just my luck to pick the wrong one. Thanks for correcting me.
Wiley Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 yes mate you can go on forever with them all carnt you i was trying to find what were in the lambrechts to see if they were any good to cross with the vanreets :) :) Tribal, you'll never know what is a good cross my friend, the best cross regardless of strain, is two inbreed pigeons of any 2 given strains. But a cross is good as it creates hybrid figure, but no pairing is going to guareentee you winners. So if youve got the right winning line of van reets and you obtain the right winning lines of lambrechts you could produce a good winning line of crosses. But all you can do is try, you can never predict a pairing that is going to breed you good birds, its luck that finds them
