to treat 40 birds both to be used together unless anyone advises knows different at a cost of£116  52p

hes treating canker and bacterial infection of the gut but he didnt seem to convincing he foned his colleague

i would be very wary of  an avian vet charging you this amount , without giving you a precise diagnosess. like many other jobs , there are some good at their job, and some not so good ,,, how can you possibly mend something when you dont even know its broken??    this is an example of a vet just taking your money on a guess ,, not really the way ,, my thoughts are, hes more interested in making money than curing/diagnosing birds

a really top class avian vet , really gennuine in caring and healing birds , would have gave you a diagnoses , then the medicine to cure it,, then send you a break down bill , for the cost of  the  visit , and the cost of the medicines , etc,, theres no way these medicines would tally up to that amount, however i must say that you have did well and proper in your actions, regarding your pigeons, but no diagnoses, and a large bill like that!! , i would be seriously thinking of a second opinion ,,,,,,,,,,from the cit, advice

Boy oh Boy !!!!!!!!!  ;D ;D he struck gold (The vet) when he saw you walk in the door "PMSL" did he give you a big smile ??????? or was it, when you walked out of his clinic, with all the goodies etc   :).

PS, one would hope now   :P it all works for you.

What tests did he run to come to this conclusion ? he must of seen pound signs ££££££

re vet charges £116 seems a lot but the anti biotics worked and birds are now fine

so money well spent big thank you to jason phillips for sound advice

shame it cost so much a complete test would of cost £30 ANTIBIOTICS NO MORE THAN £30 so a bill no more than £60 tops , glad birds better tho

yes the price was high and in hindsight i would have handled it differently

hope i never have to again but i panicked a bit but alls well that ends well

next time get a test sent out via lizzy rigsby or northern hygene will save you alot of £££'s , but as you say birds better , and a merry Christmas to you and your family
