when do most fanciers jag for paramyyxovirus,before,during or after pairing.

i vacinate a good month or more be4 pairing. to leave them get over it. thats just my opinion hope it helps

I would have done it before the breeding season if  you had too about a month before,  but you are too late if you have not paired up and expect to race in april,  you can do it after breeding but you have to make sure that it is at least 2 weeks before racing as you have to keep them away from other birds for that long,  i nomally do the old birds when the finish the moult and the young 2 weeks after the loft is closed to new introductions

I note some vets actually advocate 2 vaccinations for birds.

They nust be on commission to sell more vaccine.

My opinion would have been about 2 weeks ago so that maximum immunity is passed onto the youngsters.

I would vaccinate now and delay pairing.

I get the OBs done a few weeks before pairing up; YBs a week or so after moving into YB section.

We jag all ours at the end of October but we may have to change that for racing them :-/

my mates birds had this and they came out of it and performed very well...if they were my birds i would have binned them all just my opinion.... mikey
