DAVE W Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 just thought it would be interesting to see what your hatch /full eggs etc are and if it has made any differance pre treating for parthipoid
budgie Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Davie We always treat after the last race. The stock pigeons have 98% hatch rate and pairing our racers up last Sat 16- 17 pairs have now laid.

frank-123 Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Frank i hope you did not treat them to late.We have treated in Mid-Jan before pairing up and our hatching success rate was well below 50%. Hi Andy, treated in october been no problems since then i never jagged but might next year
budgie Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 If joints have been affected i cant see them ever being able to race again and the youngsters in the nest by the time they are 2yrs old will also go down.
ritchie1 Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 not treated but good hatching up till now
gingell Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 treated para nov not lost any young all very good health think if you good loft managment birds healthy cold weather dont effect them. ;)this is only my opinion. :)

weecunny Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 no treated and so far most have hatched
Flyer Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 started parastop(liquid) 3rd Nov finished 15th Nov followed by 3 days multi vits. paired all birds (17 stock pairs and 16 pairs racers) on the 26th dec. all pairs by the 7th jan had laid. 16th Jan floated stock eggs to race birds. had 2 clear eggs from 2 stock pairs all other eggs where full. racers all full. hatched rate 100%. lost 2 chicks at 6 day old, wrong hen bird in box and killed them (Won't happen again).stock birds 2nd round started laying 26 jan all full all hatched. a week away from weening the 2nd round now. the best breeding season to date whether pre treatment had anything to do with it. must add the birds did have plenty of grit, minerals, fresh veg every day.
