Guest IB Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Depurative is usually barley and white dari? Part of widowhood feeding system, though some feed it during winter to keep birds' weight down. Some feed it after the race as a tit-bit before the main meal, to allow the bird's digestion to get back to normal.. Conditioning mix is usually 100% small seeds, again a tit-bit, a treat after racing, before the main meal to allow the bird's digestion to get back to normal..
Guest bigda Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 forget buying depuritive, just buy a good mix and a bag of barley give more barley or less to suit the racing if you want to buy any thing buy straight maze add when needed and thats all feed maze one day sprint 2 -3 days for mid and the last five for distance

jimmy white Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Hi Is there any difference between the 2 or are they the same? What is the best depurative mix? Is it red band? Thanks Josh yes josh,,there is a big difference, depurative contains mostly barley. a little wheat ,dari, linseed [getting lesser and lesser now looking at my mix ] this is normaly used as a so-called light mix , easily digested after a race or to keep their weight to a good racing weight, but a conditioner [red band is one make ] normally contains many heating seed type grains such as hemp etc , which by feeding too much can bring on a kinda false condition, but great used as a tit-bit or whilst trapping them,, as they do love this mix
ally mac Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Josh if its for the rollers I use deurative instead of just straight wheat and the birds do well on it. I think the bucktons has wheat, barley, red and white dari, naked oats and saflower seed. Al.
Guest joshdonlan Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Cheers for the replies guys. Josh
