Used to do it but now wouldn't dream of it as it will go rancid and cause massive probs for you with Bacteria. Use lemon juice or something similar and you will eradicate many dangers ;)

I have never put garlic oil over the corn but i have used garlic in the water. Peel a clove and just drop it in easy! I do use Carrs products over the corn especially the Turbo Boost oil during moulting and also the Naturavit oil when racing. I personally think that you have to give the oils over the corn during the moult as it will produce the silky feathering and the birds will practactily slide through your hand. 2 - 3 times a week. get a empty 2ltr bottle ,fill it with water, get 2 garlic bulbs peel them and chop them in half.add to the water and keep the bottle in the fridge,i use this method every year especially through the winter, all i do is when i change the water i add a little drop of the garlic stuff,3 times a week, hope this helps,i dont use garlic oil has it stains there wattles and feathers.

i use garlic oil combined with 3 other oils..i dont know what others do but i cant understand why there is a problem with it...you only put it on the corn you intend to give them b4 you feed them.

it cant go off because it will be in their crops within mins.

i also use fresh garlic cloves and find no probs with them either. :)

since using the oils through moulting im finding their feathering has become shiny and they are starting to look much better.

the best way to use garlic in the water is to blend it, if u just drop it in the water after a short time a biofilm is created around it and no goodness is released, it simply becomes a rotting vegetable in the water ;)

I peirce it with a fork, drop it in a plastic bottle top up with boiling water from the kettle. Lid on leave overnight, and then just add that to the drinking water at a rate of 54 parts clear water 1 part garlic water. With a lid on it keeps for a few days too.

I bought the powdered garlic in Lidel for a few bob. Just add a little to the drinking water. I only do this because some people swear that it is good for the birds.

i use the add herb as it seems to dry into the corn, and helps against bacteria,  i add it as i put it int he corn bin as it lasts on the corn for 5 months ,

my birds feel silky but i do feed rape and linseed to them during the moult , cant see why we feel we have to ad oil when these seeds can be used

i used to use a lot of oils arlic, wheatgerm rape etc but now i used none at all and the birds are in just as good feathering

you should crush garlic rather than chop it, according to chefs etc this is the way to get the good from it,

That is the way we use it Archie, we crush it and leave it in dechlorinated water overnight, the only oil we use on the corn is wheatgerm oil for the racers and also before we pair them up to aid fertility.

i read somewere not to use boiling water but cold water as boiling kills the goodness in the garlic
