Adam Stokes Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Castle Couriers cover all of England & Wales Twice weekly and in most cases Three times weekly All for £30 + £1 per bird Sorry Scotland its 4 x weekly via SPDS £40 per 6 £13 for every 6 after that No need to book a week in advance for your order to be processed
pigeonforce Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Just to let fanciers know we don't use 3rd party couriers to get our customers birds to Scotland and charge the same price for every area covered £35 for up to 6 birds then only £1 per extra bird. We also Do Not keep pigeons in holding pens and ensure that all pigeons are delivered within 24 hours of pick up. During 2009 we have transported approx 8,000 birds throughout the Uk and already have orders for 2010.

Adam Stokes Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 SPDS fantastic 3rd party courier, 4 x weekly to Scotland No need to wait a week for an extra £5 Of the approx 200 orders sent out to Scotland in the last 2 months, every one delivered next day, not one single complaint
retired Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 SPDS fantastic 3rd party courier, 4 x weekly to Scotland No need to wait a week for an extra £5 Of the approx 200 orders sent out to Scotland in the last 2 months, every one delivered next day, not one single complaint Have to agree the courier i use goes to Scotland via SPDS and never had a single problem with them. Not sure what take SPDS have on the job though as think my man maybe is undercharging me as he charges the same for anywhere in the United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland)
pigeonforce Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Andy I wasn't saying spds don't do a good job they do. The point is some fanciers don't like the idea of couriers using them and other 3rd party couriers. Also Spds don't cover live stock if the customer sends 10 birds valued at £500 each and the driver crashes then it's the courier has to pay the compensation even though he had nothing to do with with it. If I crash with the birds and it's my fault then I would pay out no problem.
Adam Stokes Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Hi Daryl This is Adam, Andy's Son. Dad's been out delivering since 5 this morning, still not back, he's at Hub sorting out tomorrows runs. Just thought i'd put my views up as people don't realise what a good service Castle Couriers provide. I have never heard dad put another courier company down All the best with your Company Adam
pigeonforce Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Adam sent a pm , know how hard the driving is I done 480 miles so far today still got 130 miles before I get home

I personally don't like third party couriers as I don't like wondering who has our/their birds or using holding pens/lofts. It is just a personal preference and nothing against couriers that do and wish them all the best
