Pepperman Strain

[Dodgy Trapper]

Can anyone give me any information regarding the Pepperman strain of racing pigeon

just that I have never heard of the strain, my friend had a good 500 mile on the day

for 3 years running.

What is the main colour (he's was a pied)

have seen a few pepperman Jansens they were mainly black and only place i've seen them on net is in the States im sure there may be others that can help you on this one

I remember when these were the 'in' strain

rarely hear of them now tho

The Louis Pepermans birds were mostly blue, blue chequer and some grizzles.

His family contained the following birds :

Vandeweyer, Cattrysse,Tournier,Vereecke,Van Spitael,Vandeweghe,Fabry,Van Hee,Hector Desmet,Van Riel and Goossens. The grizzles came down through the Cattrysse / Goossens.

Axe now you mentioned the name rings a bell, that was the person i think that it came from.

The parents to the bird i mentioned  was a present to my friend about 7 years ago and that was the name.

Some Pepermans for sale in Wales this Sunday in Robert Venus sale, did you know that one of the world's most famous pigeons, Champion 'Figo' of Reynaert has Louis Peperman blood running through his veins. Both G.sire's of 'Figo' were Peperman and they were 'DE-GOEN' and 'DE Hengst' winner of 14 x 1st who was actually from Robert Venus. Hope this helps.
