chickadee Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Sorry to hear that, there is still hope we have left a door open before and our archangel got out (never been out before) and to our surprise went for a fly and came back and decided to stay with us. (thank goodness). so here's hoping yours do the same.
OLDYELLOW Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 i let a hen out last week from my stock loft she appeared tonight should get her back in when she hungry , some neighbourhood kids let my stock out when i started at one house maded sure i had locks on after that , but im sure your gutted , they might supprise you and work there way back , i sure hope they do

We had them advertised free to good home, the last one just went the other week to Glassfeathers dad. I will phone the guy that got the pairs from us and see if he has any young to spare

The Archangel or Gimpel as it is also known as is a small bird about the size of a roller or smaller. The original colour / pattern is bronze (Gimpel Bronze) body with black wings. The whole body is also covered with a copper sheen like the sheen on a racers neck and the wings have a green sheen over the black. It also has a crest on top of head. The more sheen the better the bird. It is also on of the oldest breeds known. A nice wee bird.(wiseman)
