Hi,

We've had a pigeon living in our garden for around 10 days now.  He's not keen on being caught but is quite happy eating the bird food we put out for wild birds - and my young winter cabbages!

I've read as much of the ring number as I can using binoculars, but i haven't managed to get the year.  What I have got is GB R 06711. Can the owner be traced without having the year? He's also got a large plain blue tag on his other leg.

We live right beside a wood and the last pigeon, a beautiful white one, got eaten by a fox, so I'm concerned that this one will go the same way if he stays much longer.

Thank you very much for your replies. You guys are great

Yes it is a green ring so I will give Mr. Lindsay a ring.  The pigeon is in North Shropshire so he's a fair way from home.

Hopefully we can get him home!
