yvie Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 I live in Suffolk - yellow tag says BELG 99 6344999 any advise please
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 You can try e-mailing the british unions to see if the bird is registered with them - they should get back to you fairly quickly by e-mail strays@rpra.org nehu@nehu.co.uk or the Belgian union nationaal@kbdb.be Give your own details: name, address and telephone number
ivory Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Re Belg Stray Belg 99 6344999 The phone number of the person in Belgium to whom the ring is registered is 00 32 3 481 7373
yvie Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Posted March 27, 2009 Thanks for replies, I have tried phoning but number is unobtainable. After bird resting up and eating it seems OK but still couldn't get him to fly this morning. Is this normal? Really am concerned at what I should do with him.
pjc Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 there is a chance he may belong to somebody in the uk and there is a small chance he has a stamp in his wing with a phone number on for the owner. If you open up his wing you may see a number stamped on his wing flights. If not where abouts in Suffolk are you, there maybe a member on here who lives near you who could help. Phil

I live in Halesworth - anyone know of any owners nearby.
pjc Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Keep the bird confined, rabbit hutch etc, give him a few days to feed and water. He may be exhausted which is why he won't or doesn't want to fly or he may be injured. As long as he is eating and drinking then there is unlikely to be anything seriously wrong with him. If you can find the thread on here "pigeon in my kitchen" you will find a lot of useful information. Phil

OLDYELLOW Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 email this address nationaal@kbdb.be with your details and the birds details the bird will be reported , then no doubt the owner will get a friend to contact you about it ;-) best thing would be to get intouch with R.P.R.A and get hold of a member in or near your area that will take the bird off your hands ;-)
