Jonesy Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 My brother has caught the pigeon and there is no number, however he says there is sign of some trauma (blood) on the wing. It is in a box with water and some bird seed. I have tried the number of the Cambrian Sec, but no reply, however thanks anyway. Any further advice would be kind Regards and thanks

Any further advice would be kind Regards and thanks as long as it has water and some small seed or uncooked rice it will be fine, the reason that it has not left could be that it has banged its wing. after a day or two it may well lift and make its way home.
Jonesy Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 Thanks for the good advice, I have informed my brother of "what to do". Happy to bring it to Coleford on the weekend if the offer is still there, just need a place and time. I have also left a message on Gail's office phone in order to try and source the owner.
Jonesy Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 I am logging off for about 15 minutes, however I shall return to check any updates. Please use my mobile 07727132019 if required. As an update the wings on the pigeon are OK according to my Brother and the blood is faint and only slight, so hopefully good news. Regards and thanks to you all for your assistance. P.S Is it Ok in a cardboard box and what bedding does it need.
Guest strapper Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 any hay or straw will do as a bedding...or just plain folded newspaper.
Jonesy Posted June 9, 2009 Author Report Posted June 9, 2009 Dear all, Thank you very much for all your assistance. A nice gentleman called Mr Griffiths phoned today and was delighted his pigeon was found. He attended a race in Newbury on Friday and obviously something went wrong. I believe there were many pigeons lost from that race and probably down to the weather. Mr Griffiths has asked me to try and release it a little way from it's current location tomorrow, however I am not convinced it isn't injured and so would like to ask if the offer to pick the pigeon up from Coleford on Sunday is still on. I am away from tomorrow night, however my father has kindly offered to look after the pigeon and transport it safely to the meeting place. Could I ask for a location, time and mobile contact number. I have Mr Griffiths contact number and it is a 01443 area code. Looking forward to a response and once again thank you everyone for helping.
