Guest Doostalker Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 Dunoon International Show will be held on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November. With Edinburgh sadly not being on this year, Dunoon will be the only Open Classic Show held in Scotland. There are classes for both Show Racers and Racers, with more flown classes this year. If you haven't been before why not make a point of coming this year? Getting to Dunoon is easy and it is within 1 hour of most of Central Scotland. A 200 yard walk from the Ferry and you are in the hall. Dunoon International Show prides itself on the social aspects of the weekend and that it is run by fanciers for fanciers. All funds raised go back into the show. For further details IM me or phone 01369 705942.
wee red hens Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 doostalker could you give us an idea what it would cost us to get there on the ferry coming from kilmarnock thank you
grizzle_hen Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Here's some more information http://www.western-ferries.co.uk/ when me and Richard went last year, we got the ferry from Gourock
Guest IB Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Caley-Mac, Gourock connects with Glasgow Central / Paisley / Gourock rail service. http://www.calmac.co.uk/winter-timetable.html?id=winter-cowal--gourock-dunoon.gif
Guest Doostalker Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Wee red hens: if you are coming over just for the day the best way to do it is on foot. You get the CalMac ferry at Gourock which is an hourly service, and the cost for foot passenger return is about £4. The admission to the show is free. You get off the ferry and walk the length of the pier and you are at the venue. If you want to bring a car, use Western Ferries. You can get cut price tickets from Paul's Food and Wine in Gourock. Car/driver is £13 return.
b.massey Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Dunoon is easy to get too as its straight along M8. When arrive at western ferries the crossing is every half hour

Guest 67ghirl Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 We had a Great Weekend at Dunoon, a bit Wet & Windy on Saturday but Stunning Views on Sunday. Some great Birds on Show and the Evening was Great. Both my Boys really enjoyed themselves and a Very Big Thank You to Terry for trusting them with the Raffle! Needless to say the Loft occupancy numbers are up by 2. Kieran is delighted with his SHU Duke of Edinburgh Award Trophy and Thanks to everyone who praised and congratulated him. I don't think this will have been our last visit to Dunoon. Thanks again to all involved in the Organising of the Show and Evening, no small task.
