Pigeonbasics Online Show

 

Entries are now open for the Young Bird Racer Class (to have been bred in 2005).

 

To enter please send a photograph of the pigeon by email only to [mail]forum@pigeonbasics.com[/mail]. Also include your message forum username with your entry.

 

There is a limit on entries; one entry per class per member. Please dont put anything in the background of the photos that could identify you the competitor. Also photos should be taken in the couple of days/week prior to the class being entered. The show is open to all forum members.

 

Entries close midnight (GMT) Sunday 6th November 2005. Judging will start Monday 7th November by the way of member poll on this forum.

Any suggestions on how to get a good picture? Do you pose them somehow or put them in a box to take their picture?

Carol,  we have a photo box and use a piece of dowling to get the birds into a good pose.

Is it painted a color inside? Is light or dark interior better?

The interior is painted whit but sometimes be put come cloud coloured card inside for background.  We darken the room and use a small light inside the box for lighting the bird

the dog at work ate my good sony camera 6 mths ago & my boss brought a cheap camera ive tried absolutly everything to get a good pic , but everyone turns out BLUR!

Good Luck Everyone, Oh..... This is FUN! I can sure appreciate what those pigeon photographers go thru to get pigeons to pose and get the picture snapped. I don't know how it went for the rest of you but I found that what I considered a more showy bird (I'm very inexperienced at showing) did not necessarily look the best in a picture. I soon started just trying all sorts of them to get a photogenic one.
