Guest TAMMY_1 Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 18th August, our 4th race from Worcester 105 mile I'm sorry to report that there are only 8 birds left, lots 2, 5, 11, 12, 26, 27, 28 & 29 but all are good to go. Jason how many birds did u actually start with ?
Wiley Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 seems a drastic number to lose, any ideas for such large losses?
Guest jason Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 started with 39, lost 9 off loft top when we started letting them out, 30 left when we started training and we lost some training (9 from a bad 20 mile chuck) 17 of them made it to first race. Not on my own though, here in Todmorden 2 members started with 45 birds each and both were wiped out after the 2nd race. don't know where they are, all were wingstamped and I had 2 reported which I collected from leeds. Jason
Guest jason Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Birds were held over last night and we're still waiting for a lib > :( > Jason
Guest jason Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Birds are being liberated at 2.30pm in a light south east wind. Jason

Guest Vic Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 seems a drastic number to lose, any ideas for such large losses? Having yb sickness so early, certainly didn't contribute to a normal season.

pigeonpete Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 well done jason, you thinking of doing the same thing next year mate? i would support you mate! 58 mins behind the winner!!! :-/
Guest jason Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 yes pete, the plan is to run another one next year depending on demand, I can also make the loft bigger to accomodate approx 60 birds and i'm thinking of 3 bird entries per entrant. I'll let you know all details at end of season then the fancy can decide if they wish to take part. Over the last week Todmorden hs have received an application for membership, not sure that it is down to our one-loft project but one new member is better than none. Jason
