She is surplus to my requirements at the moment but far too well bred to cull. (Couldn't get her to pair up for early breeding). Contact me for a good deal on this hen.

Diamond dave Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 Hi Pouw22 The sire is from the original kippax lines of Phil and Carol Cooke and contains the lines of White Gold - Consolidated Gold - Amethyst. The dam is one from Bob McDonald, which I purchased from his sale at the old Comrades last year. Any one who knows of Bob knows that he doesnt do pedigrees with his sales - his reputation is enough! However, after purchasing this hen, I had great difficulty in settling her and she didn't lay until later in the year. During that time I wrote to Bob find out more about the line and he sent me a hand written pedigree showing that this hen has all the original birds from 1966 in it "Goldeye" etc. Are you a Ko Nipius enthusiast Pouw?

I wanted her to go to stock but she was just too young to pair up. I dont have any room to keep her, but I wont cull her!!! She is not that late (bred late July)and I'm sure that shes good for a couple of rounds this year. As I've said, I don't necessarily want "pound notes" for her - but was hoping that some other deal could be done Have you ant ideas mate?

ALSO A VANGEEL COCK PAIRED TO A HEN OFF THE 2ND PAIR MENTOINED. I AM CONCENTRATING ON THE KONIPIUS/ARDEN STRAIN AT PRESENT FOR THE DISTANCE RACES.
Diamond dave Posted February 20, 2006 Author Report Posted February 20, 2006 Hi Sapper, I too am trying to develop the original Ko nipius lines - I am not familiar with Jeff Woodfield, are his Ardens derived from the Ko nipius birds? How long have you kept them? Would you consider a swap with a couple of young uns from your McDonald cock? or let me know if you have any other deal in mind. You wont be disappointed with this hen she is typical of the strain. I would try to post a picture but I am not good with the computer and havent a clue how to do it. Where abouts in the country are you Sapper?
