I Received a phone-call from the Skipper of the Peterhead Trawler “Consortium†today when they arrived back in Peterhead harbour after a month at sea telling me he had been looking after 3 pigeons that landed on the boat at the start of their trip when they were approx. 80 miles east of Blyth. The crew made a small aviary and fed the birds broth mix until they returned home today when I collected them. All 3 were in good condition and contact was made with 2 of the owners (1 from Nottingham 1 from Essex) and both birds were lost at the NRCC Thurso race. 3rd bird was reported via RPRA website and is also from Essex. I heard of another trawler which has 4 or 5 birds but waiting to get more info.

Arrangements will be made to get these birds home when possible.

Amazing where they end up
