Roland Posted June 7, 2019 Report Posted June 7, 2019 (edited) That's for sure:Netherlands 3-1 England: Gareth Southgate will not abandon style despite errors Southgate 'incredibly proud' of England after semi-final defeat! He must be joking or … Thick! Oh sorry playing the media game eh! Well that won him a title at least ... Most likely the only one ever , a sad lol.England boss Gareth Southgate says he will not abandon his playing principles despite the errors that cost his side a place in the Nations League final.Mistakes by John Stones and Ross Barkley led to two extra-time goals for the Netherlands after the sides drew 1-1 in a reasonable time in Guimaraes. But Southgate was adamant his side are capable of playing possession football. Proud! I cringed. Maybe Gareth needs a little understanding there! First, you have to 'GET' the ball... and THEN keep it! (Yep keep it but not too long as to not to score lol). The side I'm afraid is no more than a trumped-up media side. A side that can only score from DEAD ball situation 78% of the time. Stones has undoubtedly been the most over-excited of all time. Never played a game without making at least two bad errors! Fact.Ok, Walker got some flak. Why....! Because he was spending too much time covering for Stones. Same as most of the back line Moving out of position to cover Stones. That proves their confidence in Stones! Stones is renowned as a ball-playing centre-half, the sort his club manager Pep Guardiola loves. Yet the Manchester City boss preferred Vincent Kompany alongside Aymeric Laporte to close out the Premier League title win. Edited June 7, 2019 by Roland
Roland Posted June 7, 2019 Author Report Posted June 7, 2019 Southgate 'incredibly proud' after 'painful' Netherlands defeat England manager Gareth Southgate says he is "incredibly proud" of his players after their 3-1 extra-time defeat by the Netherlands in the semi-final of the Nations League. Is he for real! Strewth. If they had gone down fighting, chasing and MADE the Netherlands work and fight for their win... yes ok, maybe. Yeah, ok they have excuses 'they were still tired from their hard season playing football. Were rusty having not played for three weeks and on and so forth it goes'. Get real! They were outplayed and lacked the DESIRE as their opponents did! The Netherlands had also played a 'Hard season' and were rusty and tired lol. But the wanted the win!
