Wee update... pigeons are due to leave tomorrow for Gran Canaria, then onto the island of Fuertaventura, Semi Final race due to take place on 3rd March... here is hoping all goes to plan and we get another great race

Semi Final race postponed for tomorrow due to calima... a type of weather condition the canary islands experience. Here is hoping for maybe sunday or monday..

so so sad! Robbie, i will gladly donate a pair of YB's for this vrey worthy cause, in fact put me down for a £100 cash donation to get the ball rolling!

we kick off at 35p per bird, increases as birdage drops and as we get further down the road... with recent fuel increases i reckon birdage could be in excess of 40p this year. its time smaller Feds got together and started convoying with one another, we have another Fed on our doorstep which if we convoyed together from first race onwards it would save in excess of £300 per week! for races in excess of 300 miles then the amalgamation should be brought back...

163 birds home now, the other Scottish loft of Gauld & Morrison, Crieff finished 136th with Bob Roy. This thread has generated quite a bit of interest, so thanks for following everybody and showing continued support... hopefully 2012 can bring a stonger team from 'Bonnie Scotland'

Our club, Downfield Friendly RPC has 11 lofts, and 16 members at the moment, our largest birdage in 2010 was 351 birds... competition is red hot with 6x1st Fed being won by members last year from 18 races.

another great race , looks like most of these pigeons should now make it to the final ... its a bit like racing YB's here in Scotland, some fanciers get a 'smack' early on then never look back.. although next time i'm on holiday to Tenerife i'll have to show them how to attatch a tic bean to a bit of string!
