  1. hi there I am looking for some tipplers. I am not worried about the age or quantity, as long they are reasonably priced and healthy pigeons. The range of tipplers are blue badges, tipplers blue saddles and or good print. Will able to collect and view. Birmingham location would be ideal but anywhere in the west midlands. Many thnaks
  2. hi there I am looking for good quailty timber or a pigeon loft. The ideal size is 6ft by 4ft by 8ft height. Can any one help- Birmingham. many thnaks
  3. hi there I am after two pigeons drinkers. Welling to collect in Birmingham Must be reasonabiliy priced? many thnaks
  4. hi there All Why don't we all get together and setup your own collection and delivery. I mean for example: A fancier loses their pigeon any pigeon from almonds to racers, the kit is from Birmingham. A pigeon is lost in with a kit in London. The owner gets a call. Contacts a fancier in London for exampl, either by phone or via a web page setyp. They collect and deliver to the next fancier and so on until it gets in Birmingham or to a collection point. This is bit similar to the old postal and or the current stage coach service. Or even use the racing van- when they meet or collect birds for the race. What do you think - any ideas please add on - even given it a small trail run. Thanks look forward to your ideas and suggestion.
  5. hi Dave thanks for the reply. It sounds like that someone is catching them. Either to keep & breed or sell them for a pound for the pot. Even local petshop get stray racers and other pigoens in with rings, stamped etc to be sold for the pot. Which is a ilegal process. But no one does anything about it. Ring is light blue colour whith my name & mobile number. The two wings are stamped with the same information. The latest stamp says: "LOST MY WAY HOME. PLEASE REUNITE ME WITH MY FAMILY nazar 07792863699" please make note just in case and for future reference. good luck.
  6. Approx 30 years ago when anyone caught a pigeon - it was returned. Kits were flown together if you lived nearby another. kit. The sportmanship was around in them and they were the good old days. I kept two almonds until saddly they died three years ago. I was given a pair of black badget tumbers. They caught me stray pigeons, which if had rings or were stamped were return to owners. Even feed watered and released the following day. This including racers. This year in February 2006 we decided to build a new loft, increase the pigeons. So far today we have returned 13 lost pigeons (10 were racers). we have lost 38 pigeons only two were returned one founder wanted to keep him and gave wrong address. We managed to trace him and get our pigeon back. I bought 100 rings - todays count only 9 left. the number of pigeons apprx 60 in the loft. Where have approx 30 pigeons disappeared to? we are seriously thinking about getting rid of keeping pigeons. Spending time and money to build up the kit. Seeing them fly and not return is heart breaking. If they are being caught in other kits why are they not returning them. We do not have a bird of prey proble yet? The question I have, has there been an amendment to the rules on catching pigeons. If you catch a stray/ new pigeon found with your kit are can keep it, break its neck, feed it to the ferrets or sell them to the pet shop or give them to a friend to eat. When was this rule bought into pratice. I still cannot get around keeping someone else pigeons unless they said keep it? Does anyone feel the same way? and how can we get back to the good old days and bring back the sportman ship? Currently I have set up a small group of four kits nearby. Any problems with strays, loses or predators we ring each other up. please do reply? nhbg00315@blueyonder.co.uk birmingham mobile 07792863699

  11. can anyone help with the following illness simtums: the pigeon curled up? losing alot of weight? not drinking or eating? the tail is covered with dirt of pigeon droppings? I though it may be young birds illness. so far they have been injected for parmixture. a worming tablet given, cocoxdosis tablet given canker tablet given. A dose of cod liver oil. the drinking water contains the aviform 7 in 1. these are not my birds, i was given five pigeon tipplers to treat, so far only one is still with me but not sure it will make it through the night. Any ideas suggestions please. The last resort will be to let the birds die naturally.
  12. When anyone caught a pigeon - it was returned to the rightful onwers. Kits were flown together if you lived nearby another fancier. The sportmanship was around in the good old days. I was given a pair of black badget tumblers. They caught me stray/lost pigeons. If they had rings on or were stamped they were returned to their owners. Even feed watered and released the following day. This including racing pigeons. This year in February 2006 we decided to build a new loft, increase the number of pigeons. So far today we have returned 9 lost pigeons (eight were racers). In our kit we have lost 30 pigeons only two were returned to us. One pigeon keeper wanted to keep him and gave us the wrong address. We managed to trace him and get our pigeon back. Where have approx 30 pigeons disappeared to? we are seriously thinking about getting packing up the large kit and just keep few pigeons. Spending time and money to build up the kit, seeing them fly. When they do not return is heart breaking. They are being caught by other pigeon keepers who are not sportsman. The question I have, has there been an amendment to the rules on catching pigeons. If you catch a stray/ new pigeon found with your kit can you keep it, break its neck, feed it to the ferrets or sell them to the pet shop or give them to a friend to eat. When was this rule bought into pratice. Is it still a criminal offence not return pigeons, especailly when the animal is clearly marked. I still cannot get around keeping someone else pigeons unless they said keep it? Does anyone feel the same way? and how can we get back to the good old days and bring back the sportman ship? please do reply?

  16. I started to use the Aviform 7 in 1, since August 2006. I got 12 young pigeons that look healthy and no sign of the yb illness. Four already starting flying in & out of the pens. Even the Adults pigeons feathers looks clean & shining. No smell in the penns either. This is expensive but I use it every day except sunday. they get just clear water, as I feed them on Hanker. Thnaks
  17. For sale are tripplers pigeons breed in the UK. These need a new home urgently. The tipplers are known as Indian or Pakistani Tripplers which fly for many hours. These tipplers have never flown so hence they would settle in much quicker. All are healthy and from good stock. Ring Zualfiqar for more details or names of breeds. mobile 07866039663. price per tippler £25.00 ovno depending on numbers bought. thanks for looking.
  18. hi there I have been trying to email youfor the last few days. he emails kept bouncing? Just a quick note where are you based as I am looking to buy some tipplers/tumbler pigeons. Also for future reference any pigeon you catch bearing the following description please do ring me Ring name: nazar Hussain mobile 07792863699 the two wings+ tail will be stamped with the same information. many thnaks nazar
  19. yes there is a cure? an expensive method. I lost alot of young birds: the methods/programme is: a. to inject the birds with paramixture injection. b. wait and see if any changes. c. To treat the young birds with anti worms. d. see changes within one day. e. no change then a coc tablet is given. f. no change then canker tablet for the first day any change ok. g. no change then it has internal canker which is given for further three days. h. see the change. at the same time the water is diluted with 7 in 1 . Which has a bit of everything but not strong. Within or less then 14 days see the changes in all the birds. I think the yb illness is due ti stree- basically leaving the parents and learning to service. Some fanciers would say- break the neck is much quicker & cheaper- but the problem is still there. The poramme is tried and tested. Good luck
