yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah LOL Enjoy your racing and I will enjoy mine. For your info I know exactly whats involved. I done it for 12 years, Had 136 wins, topped fed 9 times (6000 plus birds) and simply got bored of the silly races

Preparing birds for a quick 2 hour fly is not the same as preparing for a 14 plus hour fly. der wake up....

Depends on what you aim to win. Silly sprint races or the longer races. Personally will not risk training my birds yet just to win one of the early races. Have no interest in club races, so as long as my birds are fit for mid May onwards. I will be happy. To many birds are losted unnesscerly because fanciers don`t train in the right conditions. attitude of some, As long as i can win the first race, don`t matter what I loose along the way. Some say I`m training now and they all get home. But at what cost is it to the bird? Bet they aint about in July. Have a good season everybody anyway.

He looks very good. He took quite a while to come in, because its a completly different loft to the one I had last year, So he found it strange.

Had bird return today, which I lost from Guernsey last August. Still has his rubber, however has moulted right through so may be he`s been shut in. Would you keep it back for this season or race it? or would you remove it from the loft.?

CORRECTION. Negative against some couriers. The ones that just want to earn a quick buck. Customer satisfaction is so important in business.

Think the rpra has had enough of our money. Won`t enter into theres out of principle. May consider others though.

UK Couriers may not be the cheapest but are very reliable and devoted to the job. I met Dave on a couple of occasions when he was down in London and what a good guy. His drivers are friendly and polite and one who delivered to me and then had van problems was a real nice guy. great service Dave, uk couriers must be one of the good uns.

Fully understand your situation and appreciate your comments. However i`ve heard the same old moans and groans for so long and nobody can do anything about it.. If I had a regular hawk attacking everytime I let out. I would not buy stock in just to feed the raptors and if it was that bad I would give up or move.

They will be old enough however should have some experience of racing before you march them to the final and probably the furthest race of the year. Is it a inland race or is it cross the channel?

I am 100% a pigeon fancier and have been for 30 years However I loose pigeons like everyone else and loose old birds from the loft which obviously is a hawk attack. Its the way of life these days and don`t care how much we moan about the problem, It will not get any better so basically we have to put up and shut up about it or pack the sport in. Compaining to anyone will not get you anywhere. its annoying but thats life. Good luck for 2010

Where does it say a bird has to be 4 months? Had 6 youngsters from Louella last year on 14th June. First 3 weeks in August. 4 of the 6 flew 55 miles, 107 miles, 163 miles way under 4 months even after the third race.

They will use some excuse. Waited 3 days for two old ones last week. will not be using again. If I can`t collect myself, will not bother in future.

What 3 / 4 couriers are the most reliable? I will need 5 pick ups done in the next month.
