Haha Thanks Davey ive just had a local fancier round to inspect the mealy he is amazed he made it home, both wings are badly bruised but he reckons no breaks so he is off for the rest of the season now and see how he does next year apart from that he seem's ok.This year is all about learning and i've learnt alot from the guy's on here and through experiance.Roll on youngbirds

Agree that this is injury rather than sickness. Needs rest & time to recover.
As the bird has been out and about, maybe give him crushed garlic in its drinking water for a few days : to take care of anything its maybe picked up, and bring down the swelling and inflamation.
This is the action ive took thanks alot guy's.
My racing team is now down to two my big pied cock and my louella hen.sending this last race and then the hen is being laid off i may lay the pied of till the channel now.

Need a bit of help please guy's.
My mealy cock yearling came home 3 days late from a race and has been reluctent to fly but he would fly a bit.I put this down to fatigue and just left him to do his own thing. That was last week i let him out yesterday and noticed his right wing didnt look right so i called him in and checked it.It is all black from the shoulder down so i assumed he has banged it.Upon looking today his left wing look's like it may be going the same. You reckon he has had a real bad bang or could it be parathoid?.Any help please guy's.

hi there ive had racers for 26 year and ive finally decided to chuck it. this season i began with 10 oldbirds to race i gave them 1x5ml toss 1x10ml toss 1x15ml toss and 5 20 ml toss all by public transport as i dont drive, i lost 3 in training and began with 7 yearlings 6 had raced as ybs. the first race 60ml i lost 5 ,the second 80mile the 2 returned the next day.the 3rd race 120ml i sent two birds it was 40mins behind the winner iam realy embarrased going to my club with these results. every week i train my birds 20ml once. i fly them every day for an hour except on thursdays whem iam away all day i dont overcrowd my loft i treat for canker, cocco, worms and respritory i feed 1 and quarter ounce a day , ornispecial once a week and vit b once a week i try to motivate them but to no avail. i have came to these points a all the experts say dont overcrowd thats mince you need at least a hundred these days also . also b you need a estate car to train them and c you need to be retired or on benefits to work these modern systems ,or have 3 partners in closing am i the worst fancier in the uk.
Hello mate i have only got 3 yearlings left to race this year its my first year for old birds so started with all yearlings anyway.I am consistently last man at the club as i was in the youngbirds last year.My birds where trained hard to start of with to no avail i treated for the usual stuff like yourself and allthough they came better still at the back.Work commitments meant i couldnt train no more so what i did was put the hen's (Hen) with the youngbirds and let her fly with them and i let my cocks out 1hour in the morning and one hour of a night i feed 1/12 ounces each of widowwood mix a day for all my birds .Now the cocks would not fly around the house and i had to brick them at first as soon as the got used to not being let in till the door was open they would fly consistently for an hour each session .So that cured the training problem my hen i fly with youngsters and she is in tiptop condition(on the darkness as well).Well this week i was ten mins behind the winner and midtable of the club by far my best position yet and it was my hen that came straight after my cock came and i clocked him as well.
The point i'm trying to make is after the first race if you get ya bird flying round the house well enough i reckon you can stop the road work.I'm new at this so i may be totally wrong but there is allways way's and means of doing things if you put your mind to it.
All the best and good luck.

Great read.I wonder if i could get my Braspennings to do the same

How do you go about entering a racing pigeon into a show at blackpool? Is there a prerequisite like a knock out event? or do you just send the form of for the bird and what class etc?
-
I only caught the last 15 min's but what i saw i enjoyed. The missus said she wished she had seen it all.I am going to enter a one loft race next year but its just for the missus really she will pick the bird and enter it in her name ,i will continue to race my own birds.

Well done Jimmy

As i see it they only sell to people who buy .if you dont want them dont buy them.
As for rocognition i think this will be great for the sport more people will see a chance of making money and have a go at pigeon racing .Out of the ones who try it some will turn out to be genuine fanciers.Yes some will be bad but if it attracts 10 new fanciers then its worth it in my eye's.Imagine there could be a few new George buscharts emerging Millionaires who just want to buy winners. Now imagine if you own one of them winners and you are approached what would your answer be to ten grand for the old check cock who has won the national and got ten first fed cards.

well looking at the returns i dont think earthquakes affect the birds
-
Could be a lot of lost birds today due to an earthquake in Kent.If its true that Pigeons can sense seismic shift's then there could be a big worry to racers today.
Fingers crossed all will be ok

My first year on darkness but i was on the understanding you waited till they come of darkness.Or so a few club members have told me.

I can be totally honest and say experts do not exist in eyesign no matter who they are, eyesign can be used for 1) determining the health of a bird. 2) confirmation of pedigree and breeding .
How can you make such a statement without actually proving these so called experts wrong?
Is there any solid proof for or against eyesign? Until there is either i cant see how you can make such an assumption.
