Im on the edge of my seat here waiting for the Lancashire area forcast.... For the past yr or so, it has been cloudy/rain/windy...... Here its dry, but slightly overcast
-
Waiting to hear if the friendship national birds are up.... Give the young ones another spin up the road....
-
it really depends what your after for the future m8.. Iv found that if im going for races from 100 to 250 miles, birds that havent races the previous yrs arent that reliable. But given time as 2 and 3 yr old birds, these pigeons treated the same way have been clocked from 400 miles.

Cheap at half the price....
-
Just wow.... Wanna look after that lad for the future, obviously no fear. Dicie

Has anyone heard any up to date info on this.. Iv got 2 birds in it, but have heard nothing regarding the progress of the birds or if they had been lost. Each time i click on the website it says under construction, thats for the past 3 months.

Sitting in the kitchen looking out at the few remaining old birds(19) skirting around... These are the same injured and wounded that cud not walk up till yesterday, when our 2 canidates where basketed for the last old bird race of the yr (French race Friendship national).. Shall be on edge now till i know the birds are up 2moro, as i never settle when there away. SHall basket up the young ones for a spin a bit later. Good luck to all in scotland and the uk for there long distance races this weekend.

Yep, depends what bloodlines your after. Beatties birds are possibly the best birds (to fly 2 channels to win from france) in the world... I do agree thou, the lads in scvotland fly 550 plus is excellent performances yr after yr..
-
My own opinion, u wont go far wrong with investing a few quid into some Ronnie williamson birds. If it is distance then add in a bit of Henry beattie blood... I purchased a few birds of Mr Beattie a few yrs ago, and i clocked them out of turn from the channel...

Friendship national from france... Bout 400 miles to us here, we have 2 away... Usual nw till there up, i wont sleep a wink

Thanks. If anyone knows PW. Virtue, we would like a way of contacting him, or J Bell, (trenant)

Weve looked at 2 fanciers (in scotland, 2 in wales) results over the last few yrs, and have looked into contacting these people recently. We believe that birds flying into scotland, N Ireland and wales are the best pigeons in the world.
-
Between club/fed/national it looks like somewhere in the region of £4,000. WHich is lovely, it shall go towards our trip to wales and scotland in the off season to purchase some distance birds.

Thanks. Past performances to date have been pretty good soon as he hit the channel races. Talbenny (1) 107 miles 7th club Talbenny (2) 107 miles 13th club Bude open 1st club, 11th open Penzance 7th club Kings cup 1st club, 1st national

myles told us last night (no pedigree or names mentioned) he bred it and it was 1 of his gold ring birds as a youngster (so obviously thinks alot of the parents) A bird the same way bred i believe won this yrs tough Penzance race for Myles. We hope to go up to visit him in a few weeks and drop off a present. Will get more info then m8 and let you know.

Just to clear a few things up. We have spoken to the person that Bred him, and he has been offered some birds as a thank you. He seems like a nice man, thou it took us a full day to get his phone number. As for the GIFT idea, not a hope. Sorry for being blunt, but that is just how it is.

Well, anyone coming into the garden gonna have to pass the mad wife dog.. But, as iv said it isnt the best area around. I had a chat with another kings cup winner from N ireland, and he has offered me a hen off of his winner, plus says to go out and spend a few hundred quid and buy 3 or 4 more hens of kings cup winners and breed off him in a big way..
-
Wet and windy.. And the same outside aswell
-
Congrats, may the next 25 yr be just as good.. Dicie

Over the last 24 hrs we have been approached by 2 fanciers/studs in Ireland regarding being interested in buying "Flow". Now, everything in this world im sure for some has a price. "Flow" will never be raced again, and alot of ideas have crossed our mind as regards what to do with him in the coming time. Some suggested we build him a little loft and an avairy and let him see out his time in the garden, others say, do a deal where you get a decent price for the Kings cup winner, and also say you want 2 young birds per yr off him for as long as he is breeding, this way keeping his blood in our loft. We dont live in the best of areas, and have already been told by just about anybody that lives in the area ot make sure the loft is well secured. To be honest, i havent slept great the last few days, checking the loft at all hours of the morning. If anyone has any thoughts on the matter, please either pm me, or add them here. Many thanks

Dont worry bout it, enjoy them, every fancier on here learns something new every day i wud hazard a guess... Get your hands on a few birds, keep you interested while waiting to start up proper. All the very best for the future, and remember, always use sunscreen....

Best of luck with him for the Thurso race. Sounds like a real fav.
