old birds i reckon once a day mon -thurs depending on weather 20 to40 miles youngsters as many tosses as possible starting at 15 miles weather and wind permitting twice a day very early morning and early evening for me is good dom mccoy

Lot 3 = Gladiator Lofts = Dom McCoy Middlesex 2 = 2010 birds I will donate a pair of birds which can be collected from me at blackpool. the pair I am donating are the same way bred as the youngsters that I raced this season and Won for me and also won many other positions in first six also winning Federation two weeks running in very different winds. One week on clocking four birds I gained the First four in Club and First four in Federation being some thirty yards per minute in front, also these same birds were in Top ten London & South East Classic both channel races. The pair are Van Loon x Jan Hybrecht and will be ready to pair straight away

I THINK THE BIG STUDS ARE A GOOD SOURCE FOR BLOOD AND PEDIGREES BUT PEDIGREES DONT WIN RACES GOOD BIRDS DO AND IF YOU HAVE BIRDS BRED DOWN FROM GOOD STOCK AND THEY ARE HEALTHY AND CONTENT IN LOFT THEY WILL PERFORM WELL FOR YOU REMEMBER IF YOU GO BACK FAR ENOUGH IN A BIRDS BREEDING YOU WILL SEE CROSSES HAVE BEEN ADDED I THINK THE FIRST COUPLE OF CROSSES ARE THE BEST OTHERWISE I THINK THE FAMILIES GET TO CLOSE BRED PEOPLE LIKE MASSERELLA BUY THE BEST THEY CAN THEN BREED THEM UNTIL WE CAN AFFORD THEM AND BY US CROSSING THEM WITH OUR OWN PIGEONS WE CREATE OUR OWN FAMILY WHEN I STARTED RACING AFTER TWENTY YEAR GAP I WAS AMAZED AT ALL THE NEW FAMILIES THAT HAD APPEARED AGAIN LOOKING BACK ON THESE PIGEONS PEDIGREES THEY WERE ALL PIGEONS BOUGHT IN AND EVENTUALLY NAMED AFTER THE BREEDER IN ENGLAND FOR SOME STRANGE REASON WE DO NOT DO THIS I BELIEVE IF YOU CROSS DIFFERENT FAMILIES TOGETHER IN UK LIKE OUR FRIENDS ABROAD THEY SHOULD BE NAMED AFTER US

talk to your neighbours and find out how they feel tell them that your stock birds need a little more room to breed and that they will not be flying out keep loft loww so as not to be above fence as its your neighbours who will probably inform council dom mccoy

it really depends on how much work you put in to the birds you only get results if the birds are fit motivated and content in loft myself i race van loons with great success up to 450 miles they also make fantastic crosses so if you crossed them with your own pigeons you would alreadybe half way there i have raced the van loons pure and crossed vand the two or three families i have crossed them with have been successfull and have had winners from day one this year 2010 approx 10 wins 9 seconds 12 thirds 12 fourths and more racing also two weeks running topping federation 1400 plus birds

lock them away split hens and cocks and feed plenty of small seed and any moulting mix canary seed red band niger seed dom mccoy

bought in some van loons also karel boeckx had to wait two years for to be able to select what i wanted from stock loft at karels very happy bred winners straight away fantastic sprint up to200 miles at present giving my vanloons a good runboth families over ten wins so far plus fed wins and one week 1234 in federation birds came together two vanloons two boecks so yes they have been a success dom

from DOM MCCOY update since winning 1234 club and federation my fifth pigeon that i did not clock was held back this week and not sent with loft mates to london south east this week but was sent to exeter and was first club first federation his loft mates sent to classic fourst section eleventh open again VAN LOONS
