  1. marmite,i think that was an excellent performance.
  2. vincent,as i have said i have sent 7.the thing is it doesn't seem to matter how good they are in condition you always lose some don't you.i suppose that is modern pigeon racing for you.i think that if you stay in the pigeon game you have got to take these things on the chin.i am kinda prepared to lose 3 tomorrow although i obviously hope i don't.
  3. not a lot of entries from the scottish midland fed but good support from chapelhall lads.
  4. was i speaking to you tonight JPH?
  5. i would like to thank all members who gave their opinions.i have found them interesting and i am grateful for the repilies.i have sent 7 out of my 17 to wakefield and kind of hedged my bets if you know what i mean.will let you know of returns after the race.
  6. pjc- i think they are in good nick.i have only raced the last 3 y/b races due to having been on holiday.1st race i took first 4,2nd race took first 7 and last week took 1st,2nd and 6th.the big concern i have is that i only have 17 y/bs left.at the moment i am swaying towards jumping 6ish into the national.
  7. just a wee question.do you think it would be possible to jump y/bs from 110 miles to 253miles safely.last week my fed sent to appleby(scottish midland).this week there is a scottish central combine race from wakefield but looking at the weather our side,i don't know whether to miss this one.if i do then there would be a big jump required for the snfc national from leicester.your opinions would be welcomed.
  8. scottish midland fed liberated at 11:00 am into a fresh west wind.
  9. scottish midland fed at appleby.107 miles to me.will probably hedge my bets and send 15 leaving me with 12 to fly wakefield and possibly young bird national.
  10. davy, i totally agree with you.scottish midland fed are only going as far as appleby this year.i believe it was decided to try this to see if it would allow better education for the youngsters and to hopefully allow higher birdage for old bird racing.time will tell if this will be the case however like many other feds from what i understand, there has been quite a few losses already.i would also point out that i believe we have an excellent race controller in andrew mckee.
