  6. ive never like quiet or timid pigeons, theres a difference to what i like and that is tame pigeons. Quiet pigeons and timid pigeons i wouldnt like these in my widowhood loft to be honest, even quiet timid hens i dont like. I personally like pigeons that dont like each other specially hens, i like hens that dont like each other builds up motivation. Even with cocks i dont like cocks that are quiet i like boastrus cocks, who will if it comes to it defend his territory to the end against pigeon or man. I like the pigeons with extreme confidence. Pigeons like these motivate themselfs. I have a cock in my loft now and i have noticed he has an extreme hate for his brother, they hate each other to bits and they will motivate each other just of these. I would watch out for what ya say big cocks westy theres a difference, between muscle and fat, with experience you will notice that. Pigeons win in all shapes and sizes but big pigeons aren't for me unless its breeding hens, i dont know what it is i do like a big bodied stock hen. But more then anything in the hand i look for the shape i like the body to be streamline.
  7. still windy it died down for a few hours so had the cocks out the loved it started to pick up abit while i was doing abit of alterations to the lofts while the cocks was out so got them in but its a lovely blue sky out there
  8. yea scout have to agree there mate
  9. the other half might keep the breeding pigeons and the other half might keep the racers, but im sure they wouldnt go halfs unless they were going halfs on all the fees mate.
  10. I think you could be right there silverwings and i do believe that some traits like these are inherited, like if you have a calm family, most of the young birds bred from these can be relatively calm. But one year one pigeon was just extremely nutcase, bred young birds from the pigeon as it was quiet a successful pigeon, they were all like there mother extreme headcases flying about crash bang walloping in the lofts. I defaintly believe temprement is inherited
  11. theres sun here and theres blue skys but i'll lay my money on it its windy out there if you go out
  12. yea i believe some people do have different qualities. But personally for any pigeon i like to see a pigeon in the hand with balence, good strong bone structure, racing wise for cocks medium racing wise for hens small - medium, breeding for hens medium - large, I don't know anything about the eyesign theory but i like to see an eye with richness and full of vitality, i would like to see a silkyness in the feathers, but most importantly if a pigeon doesnt have the heart excluding all these other factors, if he hasnt got the love of his home, box and hen/cock, the pigeon will never win no matter what shape, eye, wing, feather texture, body composition.
  13. at the moment clear blue skys but blowing a gale

    PROPOLIS

i wouldnt call it honey mike its more like a wax resin to be infact your right used by bees but they use it as like a cement to seal cracks or open spaces in the hive. The colour also varies from red, green and even brownish colour each composite has different propoties.

    PROPOLIS

havent used it for the birds but its a natural product used by bees to seal cracks, and is believed to show antibiotic and antifungal properties but thats is dependent on its composition. Also been used for skin burns and for sore throats
  21. O ur right there steve it would not be hard to compose it in your own area but also concentrating on a wider spectrum, the internet is a marvellous thing now in a way you can do a loft report of a fanciers from all of the world and not even visit there lofts!
  22. Steve the lofts reports is something im hoping to be working on, we have a lot of top class fanciers on this website, and although i dont have the dosh or the travel facilities to travel the country im seeing now what fanciers could be interested in doing loft reports and a series of questions i will ask and hopefully the can answer these and possibly take a few photos and send them across and i can assemble a good few articles for both the RP and BHW and even Pigeonbasics itself!
  23. when doing a loft report what sort of things would you as a fancier like to read and know about? What questions would you like to answer the fanciers ect.
  24. it defaintly is possible ben. I knew a guy about 4 years ago who raced to a block of flats balcony and all he had was like 2 rabbit hutches but slightly bigger in height. He didnt race many but he could race a good bird.
  25. what is the pippa website. What are people thoughts on the best sprint lofts in belgium and holland? Who Are they ect?
