Shine a torch through them (it's called candling)at 4/5 day's old you should clearly see viens running through the egg if not then the egg is no good.personally I do this with every egg laid in the shed.you can bin eggs that are no good and also swap eggs over to make up clutches ,but only if you are spot on with your timing.

Does this include the north west / central fed earlier post suggests 9.45. lib time
