The life expectancy of a feral pigeon is less than 2 years of age. Why's this?

Never treated my old birds this year at all for canker, in fact never treated my young birds for it last year neither so my yearlings have never had a canker treatment period. Do I wish I had of done? No Way!!
My pigeons flew consistently well from the first to the last race. I’m happy with what they achieved and my curiosity has been answered

My old birds will be fed on 75% all rounder 25% depurative added to this a tablespoon of linseed to every 20oz. Garlic in the water a couple days a week and plenty of baths.

What are we talking about here. Old birds or young birds, if young are you racing them?

In my experience they're not worth saving. I would put it out of its misery and have a vet find the cause of it going light.
