  8. many happy returns, hope you have a nice day,
  9. Morning all hope you have a nice day,
  10. the bird must be in the loft when timed, a sputnik, if you have the antenna fixed under the floor the bird drops into the sputnik and times, the bird is timed in the loft, one rule which is rule 4, timing systems must be fitted within the loft, is confusing as rule 11 says ETS can only record the arrival time after the pigeon has entered the loft, I think the latter fits the rule, its the bird which must be in the loft when timed, as said above using a sputnik, would be ok, as the bird is in the loft when timed,
  11. as said probably the bird dont have to be confined , but then who would want a bird to fly out after timing, suppose this is to allow open dore flying maybe,
  12. The rule is: ETS rule4:" Electronic Timing Systems must be fitted within the loft" unless that has been changed, its an old shu rule book I am looking at, Rule 11, " ETS can only record the arrival time after the pigeon has entered the loft" as said it may have been changed , I must look for a newr rule book,
  13. .good morning to you all, hope all goes as planned, have a nice day

    Ets Stolen

where is the name on it, how did it get stolen ??? it will be registered with their SHU number on it so would need a clock setter to be crooked to pass it, just like ets rings belonging to others
  15. yes its so the birds cannot fly away they must be confined in the loft or part of ,
  16. good morning all, yes just cleared the path around the house of snow
  17. many happy returns to u both and sapper as well, have a nice day
  18. yes a layer of white snow this morning, in Leven on the Forth
  19. yes m8, they look after better than humans now, if an animal or a bird gets hurt they can see a vet right away we have got to wait weeks to see a doctor, some dont reailise it but all birds are protected, kill a sparrow and you get done in,
  20. they do John, yes used to be good when you hung the dead up, but thats illegal you cant even move them, I remember as a youngster watching the fire brigade hosing the crows nest off trees, this was to keep the population in hand, which is not done now so far too many around, and all birds are protected now, you cant even collect their eggs now which was a big thing in my days, the schools used to have glass cabinets full of different birds eggs, you used to put a pin hole each end and blow the inside out of them so just keeping the shell,
  21. thats the name I was looking for, thats what I use, got a large bag ages ago,
  22. I use the colombine its no problem if its brushed on nothing to blow around
  23. its the carrion crows thats the problem, the one with the black shiny beak, and you will only get one nest in a tree, they take over the area chase guls, hawks and dogs, but dont keep hawks away they do chase them, I kept them at bay for a while but last year had one nesting just 30yds from my window, was good never touched my birds but were killing the wood pigeons which are here,
  24. they will be carrion crows, I had to stop racing one year lost 8 old birds with them,, can be good for keeping hawks chased but if they start on your birds they are worse than hawks, they dont kill to eat they just kill anything in their teritory, they take the heads of old birds, and they are just as protected as any other bird, I will pm you later
