yer seen them in the wild trying to nail the young ferals, quite a skilled at it but they did nest near by. myabe you have a nest very close. you need to follow them with a good arifle
  6. hi wondering if i could be given a list of defferent roller breeds? and around what price would young birds be? i remmber my dad talking about bermingham rollers but is there more? atb lee
  7. whats wrong with longing on then longing off, plius me computer is nackered by out on the p*ss now. tar tar
  8. ha ha get a life i came here to find out about clubs and birds as i was after a few to train my dog, not to harm but just to us tehre scent, im not any one else and this is the first time i have been on here. and with regards to my spelling its because im dyslexic that i spell the odd word now and again. im just nhere to find out about pigeons, i saw a link to peres which i have a slight interest in (as im a hawk man) and thought id ask some questions i know you boys have problems and wanted to find out exactly how bad or not it was. but got loads of grief and threats, nice.
  9. thanks mickb i think most falconers feel the same as you lot about the rspb, a usless charity just in it for the money. i know they do some good but i think like alot of charitys there bend the truth, the thing is its joe public who pays there wages. and no i would use a pigeon for my hawk, one its against the law and two im good enough at reading and serving my bird the right quarry to keep him hunting. i also release gray partridge with are on decline through habitant lost through modern day farming. so i try and put back what i have tacken, infact i put in more than i have tacken. i think ill find a better pigeon fancyer sight and maybe ill change the names as it was abit ill thought out. atb lee
  10. i think ill be keeping my addres close to heart with the welcome i have had from some members. nice ppl wishing my bird dead, not once have i wished for anyone on this sight taht there birds get eat. i think ill refrain from posting on this thread ill just brows the forum to find the info im after. thanks lee
  11. whats funny? last time i saw one actaully eating one was about 10 years ago but have seen a few failed flights at them over the last few years. what you getting at? im not trying to hide anything? im just asking questions and trying to deffend myself. im not here to do anything im a falconer who is happy with mysport but i came here to get some info and read your forum as i do like birds. i think your paranoid. im here for my own selfish reasons to see if i can keep a few pigeons. but got caught up in this thread.
  12. i couldnt make sense of that numptie!! could i have it in english and with a little bit of grammer. i dont ask for much.
  13. clever, can you only manage a sentance an hour? im out tonight but cant wait for the next instalment from you buddy.
  14. ok lets say for argument sake they started moving the peres, giving there young to falconers of such, what about spars? do they constantute a threat to your birds? i know they take woodpigeons in the wild but unlike peres sparrowhawks are alot harder to find the nests so yo would have a bop that takes them but couldnt be as well regulated.
  15. lol manners can be arranged mate, pm me, but you would have to do the traveling as i couldnt be arsed!
  16. im sorry tonner, i was just feeling as though i was being attacked, and yes i was being ignorant, but no more so than the fools previously. once again sorry atb lee
  17. why am i a *expletive removed*? are you another sponging jock? or are you one of the two who actually works up there?
  18. it does you morron, buzzards are very aggresive and have had two mates whos birds have been killed by them. its a fact of life, we dont belong there and wild bird does. i do my best to stay away from them or protect it with all the legal means i have. id say b.o.p admirer, atb lee
  19. so because i fly a bop im now not welcome on the site by you numptie? what a shallow minded fool you really are. can see where you get the user name from. was good talking to mickb as he seemed a little more educated than the morrons we are getting here. i always wanted rollers and tumblers when i wasa kid, still would like to. so are you saying these are near on impossible to keep and fly now? that is a shame. ant too black w f, i think you will find your the brain dead one, please i was asking seriouse questions in a polite way and now you lower the tone by callling me names. its ppl like you in clubs and organizations that lower them. and its ppl like you who ruin this country. i think you ppl could learn alot from falconers as in my view we have the best understanding of bop but i come on here ask polite normal questions and you sad wierdos get all paranoid. maybe mickb thats was rspb dont speak to your organization if you have ppl like numptie and black wf talking for your group. what a shame i say.
  20. i agree id also like to see the numbers, but dont you think ppl are looking into it? id hope they are. i think leing or hiding the truth is no good for any party involved.
  21. i dont think its that simple in my view. bop numbers to me are getting back to normal natural numbers. the balckbird is the most common bird in britain, more so than starlings and feral pigeon but there not vermine so left alone. i think you like to use the old songbird population to help fight your case, my view is that pigeons are the staple diet of the peregrine in towns and country, maybe not in coastal areas. im jot even going to deny prettended your birds aint being attacked. just trying to get a better understanding. i like all birds, have had a fasination since i was a boy. but to me the wild population is more important that say demesticated pigeons. i see it as a selfish view. you realse what is a demesticated bird into the wild and you get angry when it is prodated, wouldnt these prodations help your breeding stock? help get fitter and stronger birds in the long run? ie servival of the fittest? atb lee
  22. i have witnessed a perergrine nest and i have seen a few rings ill admit. more than i thought id find. but then again i was drown to the ring and missed loads of other leggs thatw here in the area. i watched these peres and they do have a tendancy to catch pigeons, manly feral with the odd woody and a few wader birds as there is a resvoir near by. but it did get me thinking. is it because your pigeons bunch up when comming bacj into roost when they get targeted? although i dont agree with loads of views i dont think its not happening. the worst thing to hapen in my view is ppl going out ruining nest for there own sake if all the birds are hunting is pigeon.
  23. hope yopur not all that narrow minded, for god sake
  24. Hi i know the peregrine population is back on the rise, but how often do birds go missing from racers lofts? and hwo often have ppl witnessed it happen in there loft via a peragrine? just curious and please no bullcrap or exagerations. just from witnesses please. i must admit i dont like some of the comments that are said, ie the songbird decline argument is crap in my view. its all down to habitat distruction, im just trying to get a better understanding, please dont think im try to insight something here as i fly a bop, im serously interested in some of your views. atb lee
  25. HI as my last message was delleted i thought id ask to join a club to speak face to face with members. or any racers in the berkshire area, just need a small amount of info. i hate these forums cant never get my point across properly. many thanks lee
