When i saw the pigeon i could see he was specail and when i saw the pedigree i knew his value but im lucky enough to be involved closely with Raymond Moleveld of Holland and its only fair that we test the pigeons that we selling from the breeding stud, hence the reason why he is spare. Hello They are excellent hard day racing pigeons and tend to be better ther farther they fly! With most long distance pigeons they dont mature until they are 2-3 years old so they need to be treated with a steady hand. In Holland they are used as a cross with Aarden, Hagens, Van De Wegen etc with great success and for years wanroy pigeons have performed well in the Nationals and overnight races. The main line is the "spin" and even though Van Wanroy is long gone people like Lynders and Hendricks have great collonies of pigeons realating back to the originals. They tend to be very dark pigeons, the one that i had from Jan Lynders are almost Black. Pictured below is our De Wim who is typical of the family. Regards Stuart Wilcox

They can at times be very difficult esp when the pigeons are one of the partners house as you can feel like an intruder but overall they do take the pressure off and allow you to tend to the birds better!!! Stuart

Hello Slugmonkey what you have written is mostly true, our champion birds are housed in Holland and the organisation who issues the certificates are in Belguim. They are very strict about testing and if things are not done 100% then the certificate isnt issued. In our case we delivered our main breeding pigeons to the lab where the ring number was taken along with the DNA Sample, after that the young pigeons can be tested and the sample cross referenced against the sample stored on the database. Its a very good system and it does give the purchaser the piece of mind required when buying pigeons. A test (sample) costs 38 euros! Regards Stuart Wilcox

Hello Sapper756 I understand what your are saying but there is a security risk by printing the ring numbers of very expensive pigeons as its all to easy to have them stollen! Most of the birds i sell come with a DNA Certificate nows that a step in the right direction!!! Regards Stuart Wilcox

In 2003 i was waiting for my pigeons to return from Saintes, all day long i could here shooting which isnt uncommon as there are alot of Wood Pigeons in the area! It was a east wind that day and most of the birds came back over the town, except for one 5 year old cock who had flown many times, he came down over the fields bang on line!! When he landed the blood was pooring out of him and i just knew what had happened! Rage just took me over and i grabbed a pic axe handle from the Garage and jumped in my car. About a mile up the lane i could see a car parked in a gateway so i stopped and i could see these 2 guys in a hide. I ran up to them and was suprised to here them speaking French which made me even more angry, one of the guys started to put the pigeons they had shot in a bag but before he did i managed to catch a glimpse of one racer and thats all i needed (im afraid i lost it). Im sure those two guys must have spent the night in Hospital and im sure they wouldnt be able to use those guns again! Im not proud of what i done but i enjoyed the fact that they felt the pain that the pigeon was feeling!!!!! Luckily he recovered! Stuart Wilcox
