I have just started keeping pigeons and currently have 4. I feed them 1.2 ounces per bird per day but when i feed them it's as if they haven't eaten for days. I read on the forum somwhere that this was how much to feed them but wanted to double check just incase i'm starving them.

Do you just put nesting materials on floor for pigeons to pick up themselves?

Where is the best place to get rings from or do i need to get them from the Royal Pigeon Racing Association? I am hopefully going to start racing next year.

Ok here goes....... I have a shed which i have converted into a loft containing 4 young pigeons 2 about 6 months and 2 about 4-5 months old, i have a door cut in the side of the shed and this goes out on to a landing board which is covered in a mesh enclosure so they can sit and look about but can't fly away. Do i physically but them through the hole to go out side so they know what it is for and when im calling them back in to feed do i do the same untill they relise what the hole is for ? Matt

Is it ok to let my pigeons out to exercise twice a day? My wife is saying she dosent want pigeon droppings all over her washing so i was going to let them out first thing in the morning then again about 6-7 o'clock so her washing wont be out. I am going to have a small aviary on the loft so they can sit outside during the day.

Yes it is a cock and hen. They were about 4 months old when i got them.

I have had 2 young pigeons in an aviary for about 5 weeks now. They had never been out before i got them. If i were to let them outside the aviary would they fly away or would they be ok ? thanks in advance.
