How do I break my pigeons bad habbits? (I know its my fault) They have a constant supply of food and are allowed in and out the loft when they want, and i sometimes feed them on the grass! How do i change this so i have more control over them i.e they trap when i tell them to etc. all help is much appreciated. Matt

My birds have been ranging quite well (i think) dissapearing for about 45mins. What distance should i make there first toss? :-/

I would like to say a huge thanks to Alf on this site for helping me out. After recently starting keeping pigeons i tried to make contact with pigeon keepers in my home town but no one seemed interested in helping me. Alf who lives in the next town invited me to his loft to see how things were done, told me not to hesitate to contact him for help and also gave me a pair of young birds. Once again Alf thanks very much. :)

All of them. I've only just started keeping pigeons and only have 4 at the moment.

Supposed to say when i let them out on an evening they are out for about an hour and a half!

I use a tin can and whistle to them to call them in.

They just lie on the roof of the house and sunbathe ;D I let them out before i feed them but they dont seem to want to come in for food untill night time.

If i let my birds out in the morning they are out for about an hour and a half then come back in no problem. If i let them out in the morning they stay out all day and then come in at night. Is it ok for them to stay out all day and if not any ideas how to get them to come back in?

Is that per day or morning and night feeds? Sorry for all the questions just want to get it right!

Johnston & Jeff breeders pigeon corn. It's got lots of different things in it.

Obviously not enough then! So i should be feeding them about 8 ounces between them at each feed ?
