£20 per bag - there having your eyes out . You can get a bag of condition seed at most pigeon corn shops for £10 and its the same thing!!!!
  2. I dont think the increase in birds of prey and the fact that we rarely get birds back is a coincidence!!! Ive not had as many strays enter my loft the last few years as I have previous years. Also Ive not had any birds back through the winter months like I could almost guarantee years gone by.
  3. From now till pairing up I feed 50% Barley and 50% V-Laga Best All-round. Then 2 weeks before pairing put them on 50% best all-round and 50% breeding mix, with ferti-oil mixed on to it. 2-3 weeks b4 pairing treat for worms with Moxidectin. Then when they are sitting eggs treat them for canker and feed the barley mix again (to keep the weight off), and a few days b4 the eggs hatch, put them on full breeding mix + a few human consumption peanuts (crush the peanuts and microwave them for 15 seconds to kill any fungi) and I mix protein powder to the corn. Whilst they are feeding they get Gemphepax + Protein powder on the corn and Baby milk powder mixed into the water every day.
  4. I miss being able to get that buzz about them anymore, racing this year felt tedious and I only got the buzz twice in the whole season !! Hope it returns one day ;D
  5. I had trouble with mine and I managed to have the door hinging the wrong way on one and nearly broke it trying to take it apart. They are pretty rigid when put together though ;D

    Burnt down

Its a great idea, but money doesnt replace the years of breeding etc that has gone in to the likes of Mr Barkels loft.
  7. He looks a quality cock - especially at 14 year old ;D ;D
  8. Sounds good - any chance of some piccies??
  9. Now that would scare the burglars off ;D ;D ;D
  10. Thinks its more us Office Boys that cant take the cold not just Thornaby lads LOL. Having them behind the house definately makes you soft, as I used to go down the loft on the allotments in the winter in my t-shirt ;D ;D
  11. Its great having heating in the loft as well as the lights - keeps me lovely and warm when cleaning out - costs a fortune but well worth it ;D ;D ;D

I think cctv needs introducing on the allotments these days. And the lofts need secure fencing around them etc. In most other sports security is more of an issue. In the allotments in Thornaby they almost invite trouble, by people being to lazy to close the security gate at the top of the allotments path. Im not saying Mr Barkels lofts wern't secure as Ive not visited them but we need to catch someone at it and have an example made of them, because the problem seems to be getting worse.
  13. Still more with crosses next to there name as well !!!
  14. Same here ive thinned my birds down to 18 birds from 70 odd and the lofts seem empty :'(. Much easier to clean out now though LOL ;D ;D ;D

Yep your right - it was mischief night, but this used to involve just simple tricks, like throwing eggs at peoples windows etc - Not arson attacks on innocent pigeons.

Probably some young chavy teenages with f--k all else better to do with there worthless lives. It would be easy for me or us to say they need to be hung for it, but I blame this country for the lack of respect for anything anymore. It was only the other day on they were saying on the news that our country is becoming scared of its own teenages and why - No F--king respect for anything anymore.
  18. Yep every day + mix it with the usual things like cider vinegar, garlic, multi-vits etc
  19. Fully recommend them paul, I use them and have recently been putting newspaper under and just replace the newspaper every day. Keeps there feet clean, which is always a bonus ;D
  20. I have blinds in the loft that I pull down to stop the flashing in the loft. When I didnt have the blinds the birds would panic and cower in the corner of the loft. Its made worse for me as my next door but one neighbours always has proper fireworks on the go!!!!
  21. Breed them early and they will be on the natural darkness system
  22. Same for me - Lighting and heating on ;D ;D ;D
  23. I use it all the time - and it def keeps the droppings perfect.
