I never meant what i said in any funny way or to upset anyone what i was trying to say is in my opinion to courier any item you need to have transport knowledge and to know how to operate some sort of transporting network otherwise you will end up in trouble. Like i have said before its not easy looking after birds especially pigeons as if one escapes there is no way of catching it.

Surely it would not matter if you were a fancier or not as if the birds are delivered within 24 hours which most are they do not need to be taken out of the boxes ???? As most of you know if we had a bird for any longer than 24 we use to make sure it was watered and fed and again it is thanks to pigeon fanciers as me or which ever driver it may be would ask a fancier to water and feed whatever birds needed to be looked after. There were a couple of times where we could not get hold of the buyer so we waited until we contacted them we would never do this without the buyers permission and we would always make sure the buyer had the contact details of the fancier who had done this for us with there permission too. So surely you dont need to be a fancier as long as you know what your doing to get the birds collected and delivered to customers then you can do the job ?????

Are you copying what i have said ???? I have already said what you need ideally is a big couriers firm but you wouldnt get the birds the same day maybe the next day but dont the couriers that are operating at the moment doing that already ??? Hi Julie i agree with most of what you have wrote here and for the last 7 pages of this thread i have been trying to make people realise what you couriers actually do. Trust me there will be alot more tears to come and long night up worrying and also you will always have people complaining that you are charging too much hence this thread in the first place and people will always complain that you are late even if its just 5 mins they will will complain. Like you say if everyone came together and done there bit to help then there would be a real strong couriers service.

Alan when did we ever NOT collect or deliver your birds on time ???????? I have plenty to say because like i have said people think its easy for the couriers but ITS NOT at the end of the day you need your birds collecting and brought to you and unfortunatly even if you got a big couriers to do it for you i would give it a month until you were complaining about the boxes being damaged and the birds being crushed or them getting sent to the wrong hub and you having to wait days before you recieved your bird then it would be the birds havnt been given a drink or fed. Atleast with the couriers operating now if they are struggling they can find the time to water them and feed them also they are handled with care so they dont get damaged please tell me when us or any other courier has let you down or delivered a bird to you where the box is damaged ????

Like i said mate all vans will have them soo and thay will even put them in the big 4x4 cars too as some of them are big and heavy and can cause serious damage in a accidennt.

;D ;D ;D ;D I shouldnt say this online but why not i remember i use to drive a 7 an half and i had to go to Slough and back and half way back i use to have to change my tacho or i wouldnt make it back for the next driver who needed the wagon

Ye thats stacking them ontop of each other us as couriers are not allowed to do that we have ventilation spinney things on our van roof's when we had the caddys we could fit around 40/45 boxes in and in our connects we can get around 50 boxes in. We had plans to put shelving along the sides i still have the plywood here given to me by a fancier we went to alot. Plus you can drive a combo for aslong as you want mate as its not illigal its like your car you could go out in it now and drive without stopping until next month but in the new vans now they are getting stricter and putting tacho's in them now and soon they will do the same in all vans as some companys are getting there drivers to drive for days on end without sleeping.

Not necessary mate we didnt and we couldnt of done more than what we were doing our vans were full all the time and if we had got bigger vans then it would cost alot more in diesel. We got a transit van and it only does 35 mile to £10 of diesel yet our little connect vans we were using done around 95 miles to £10 of diesel big difference. Yes you can get more in a transit but you cant do as many drops as they are alot slower and now some of the new one's are tacho'd so you would have to take your breaks.
