speight, I cant really judge the Rotherham show cause i did turn up a little late, and it looked to be over, but it didnt look like i had missed much, I have never been to a pigeon show before, and i felt like a total fish out of water!! it was quite an uncomfortable moment walking in, so i pretty much walked back out :-/

whats the idea Joe, weve all seen this pic and heard all the jokes, and as lovely as she is Its just not as funny second time round!!

Hi Speight, I like Nikon cameras ive had 2, I dont think it is necessary to have too many pixels my first one was 8 million pixels and my new one is 5 million which is still produces great quality pics Ask in the shop for a model with a fast shutter speed, the problem i have with digital cameras is that the lens doesnt close as soon as you press the button, they all have a slight delay, and when you are taking pics of birds they move before the pic is taken, so one with less of a delay would be good. I find the guys in the camera shops are very helpful, tell them your budget and what you want it for (one guy told be he personally didnt like the kodak ones) hope this helps ya samantha

Im not sure I understand the problem Gez, but most solisitors are happy to offer initial free advice, then you will know where you stand legally (just a suggestion, youve probably already thought of it :) good luck with it m8

samantha replied to engsworld's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
I am also a begginer, but I agree with Don, I allowed the old birds that I bought to have young, then I got the young flying out, before I tried the adults, I did loose one adult, but form the advice that I have recieved on this forum, I believe that that is the risk you take. let us know how you get on, Ps I like your pic, you look like a happy pair!! -
no chance! i avent seen him since, he had a new bird with him, he wont be back!
-
hey sasha I was teasing pigeon man because he was getting me confused with peckedhen, (I cant help being a bit silly) I am like pecked hen I only have 6 pigeons, they are fancy pigeons they do not race, I am a begginer. but I love the birds. PS, I think your english is very good this is me and my birds

thank you bruno, I knew you wouldnt let us down, and if you wouldnt bother, then thats good enough for me!
-
quick question for bruno, should I get my birds vacinated for this? or any other disease? should I just go to the vet or should I find a vet that specialises in birds? (it hasnt crossed my mind to do so before this!) though I have taken care of wild garden fans with Paramyxovirus . but they didnt survive! thanks

no this isnt a politics forum it is a pigeon forum, Tam pepper, I dont think anyone has a problem with opinions Ideas and maybe even contoversy! it is when people cannot agree to disagree and insults start to fly that it becomes a problem, because the majority of people on here do not want that!! If you have interesting ideas and opinions I think I speak for most, we welcome that, but if you just want to argue things round and round that isnt what this new forum is about! (just speaking my mind tam pepper )

this is really a very moving thread, I have to admit I had a little tear reading the father and son stories, westy like you my first birds were a pair of wests, and now I have some very pretty fantails, but my dad just rolls his eyes if i mention them, he says they are vermin and wont even come and look at them!! but I love them if it worked this is a pic of one of my new birds. PS im not falling over Im totally sober! ;D

Hi everyone I havent been on for a while, been really busy, but I was just sat catching up on some of the posts when I just now just looked out the window and saw my west of england cock that I lost when I first started this post!!!!!!!! in the tree with a wild garden fantail!!!! I cant believe it, I havent seen him since, thought he must have been killed, but hes been out with his new bird! its good to know he is ok after all this time, its quite made me day ;D

glad you mentioned the ring thing shadow, I hadnt really thought of that, Ive got some left over rings and if you hadnt have said, I would have just used them up next year without thinking. pecked hen, again Im in the same boat as you, I have not enough room or (man power) to split my shed into two and Im sure from what I have read you are the same, I have a hen (for definite) and two unknowns!! they are this years and are both a bit stroppy once the cock (father) flew off they have both took over the hightest perches and see there mother off it if she goes up, so my guess is a hen and two cocks but is is only a guess, but if Im right will I need to get hold of another hen? or will they be ok? good to be back missed yall!
