up to you if you want to vaccinate,but,if just kept for pet and as you have no other pigeons with him,personaly i would not,but,your choice !!! there is no significant way to tell a male or female in looks in a pigeon,unlike budgies with brown or blue nose,,,the pigeon in your pic looks a young one by the pink nose on your bird,it will start mature in about 5-7 months and then its behaviour will normally tell you if its a cock or hen basically !!!! hope that helps a bit !!!!

young rollers are well known for getting them selves lost !!!!! even a good strong wind will push him well away from home before it knows where it is,then its lost !!!! rollers have basically no homing instinct compared to a homer or racer,so,enjoy the new company k29 and lets know how you get on further down the line with your new found friend !!!!! well done and good luck !!!

some one told me about layers pellets when i had pigeons 20 odd years ago,only coz i was having trouble getting them to lay,when i did feed them as told to me on how much,,,,within 2 weeks i had eggs every where and it was a big freeze outside then for about,i think,3 weeks solid !!!
