many years ago an old fancier which i think was called fuller isaccson(spelling) had pigeons known as wings of steel,he use to lock them out of the loft from morning till just before night in summer and all through winter and only came in at night when called for food,he was virtually unbeatable in his era,,,how he was breeding birds then i dont know,but,it was an interesting story i read long ago and never forgotten that ! just thought i would mention this if anyone wants to look up the story on this legend !
