  1. If you do decide to go down the show racer route my dad has 30 good birds that are on the transfer list, mealy, white mealy, red cheq, dark cheq, silver mosaque, and yellow mosaque. He's in Burnley Lancashire, getting rid as he's getting old and can't manage, canaries, racers and show racers.

    Nest bowls

Hello and good evening, I'm quite new to the forum and don't get on much so the chances are I'm a stranger to everyone. I'm starting out racing pigeons this year ater a long break and I'm looking forward to racing young birds with my local club Stamford and District Homing Society. After alot of effort my loft is finished, it is 16ft by 8ft I've attached some pitures for you all to see. Anyway my birds arrive tommorow and I have no nestbowls so I was wondering if anyone had any ceramic nest bowls spare that they would sell me, I need approx 20. I live in Stamford Lincs and collection is no problem. Thank you, Lee
  3. The problem with sparrowhawks is that they are brainless, bombproof and will give anything a go. I was once out flying a female peregrine and one came and had a do. The best way to get rid of the problem is to get rid.
  4. I know one or two things about hawks as I flew them for quite a while. The hawk will keep coming back as long as you have pigeons. Easy pickings with a worst case scenario resulting in your birds finding somewhere else to live I know someone who used to keep a canary behind a plate of of glass in the avairy of his pigeon loft. Sparrowhawks can't see the glass, they would come screaming in at some serious pace and brain themselves when they hit the glass pane. He used to have a tub of water under the glass pane which teh hawk would fall into and the problem was solved. Now I don't know what the legal side of this is so I would encourage you to investigate to be on the safe side as I don't want you to break the law but the method does work.
