  2. Ooops sorry "Unknown birds" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
  3. I have no other info. other than these are really nice birds but if you want to find out who bred them phone the relevant number on the list in "Unknown pigeons" and see if you can find out who the ring was originally registered to then contact them and see if they can provide a pedigree! Maybe you can see why I haven't had the time to do this for 20 pigeons at the busiest time of the year for us!!!!!
  4. As I said in my previous post I don't have any details but if you search for "Unknown pigeons" post in this forum then you'll see a list of these numbers and the phone numbers of the clubs where the numbers were registered so if you want more info. please start there!

  10. Hi All, A while back I put a post up asking for help in finding out more information on 20 pigeons I collected from a loft of a fancier who passed away recently. I was going to offer them free! Well here they are. I have wormed them and treated them for respiratory. They are all looking great now they are eating pigeon food not rabbit food! We can make arrangements with couriers but you will have to pay for the carriage unless you wish to come and collect them. Please see pictures below, first come first served! Sorry about some of the pictures quality.
  11. Hi Andrew. Keep meaning to PM you! Not that this will help much but as a matter of interest for all we have red stone grit, black minerals and pick stone in front of the birds 24/7. We top up once per week.We don't have any problems with wet feeders. They only thing is if you are getting one big and one small young one in the same nest maybe it's because the first egg is being incubated from the day it is laid! This maybe due to the extra cold weather we have had this year! This maybe of use to someone! Cheers, James
  12. Tell me about it!
  13. Let my young birds out for the 7th time in 8 days and lost two to the raptors! :'( We've had no birds out since we finished young birds racing 2009! I was just getting to like one that's gone, I knew that would happen :'(
  14. Hi there, Anyone know how or who can take 4 pigeons over to Holland by Monday next week! Please help! Cheers, James
  15. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll get onto this ASAP and see what comes out. Cheers
  16. I've asked his brother to keep any eye out for any paper work but no one in the family was interested in them and looking at his place I wouldn't know where to start! Thanks for the help with the DV
  17. Dear All, I collected 20 pigeons from a local fancier that sadly passed away. I don't know of anyone who knows his birds so was wondering if anyone on here could help locate their original owners so I can get a bit of information about them. I would like to give them away and thought it would be good to get some info on them first, please look at the ring numbers below. DV0720-08-519 NWHU03X5829 NWHU03X5792 GB03T11593 GB03T11594 GB04Z92759 GB05P07050 GB05S75771 GB05Z76575 GB06B89213 GB06T91547 GB07X71453 GB07Z80939 GB08R51006 GB08R51041 GB08R51069 GB08R61219 GB08Z91332 GB08Z91636 GB08Z93114 Any help at all would be very much appreciated. Cheers, James
  18. Hi all and Happy New Year! Seems a long time ago! Anyway I was hoping to get this done before we went to Blackpool but it wouldn't upload! I have, at last, got some 40 mins in total of video of how we pair our pigeons up. This video was filmed from the 19th December 2010 through to early January so hopefully you can see the full process. I hope it is of interest and your comments are welcome. Go to www.tumleylofts.co.uk and click on the guided tour button on the left. Best wishes to you all and I hope you have a successful 2010
  19. I hope D & T read this but I didn't mean to cause offense but air my concern of my own opinion but at least I didn't lie! In the 26 years of being a stud and approx. 20 years of attending the Blackpool show (Dads been a pigeon fanciers since the late 40's!) we/I have never had pigeons boxed under our stand! When we have our biggest stand we can hold 90 pigeons on display at once. We always make sure, as with this year, that we bring more spaces than pigeons! I have not commented on your stand this year as I did not see it so keeping my facts accurate! I have taken great offense to this comment and would like an apology even if it is a pm! This is why I don't like making comments often as they can soon turn sour and it has taken a long time and a lot of effort over many years to build, what I think we have, a good reputation and comments like that (which aren't true) can ruin all of that!
  20. Thank you all so much for the great comments. When I read unprompted comments like this it really does mean a lot. I get great please in knowing I've helped fellow fanciers. Cheers all! :) :) :)
  21. We were next to D&T Lofts last year and were appalled by the way the birds were treated and the manner in which they conduct their business. I don't normally speak out on this sort of thing but when we take so much care of our birds and see pigeons treated in that way (not just D&T) it does make my blood boil when nothing is done to stop this happening. I can't understand why people buy their birds from these sort of people but they will keep selling like this as long as people buy from them! Every bird we take is on display from day one with water 24 hours a day and they are fed twice a day! I hope i have offended anyone, if I have I'm sorry but this is my opinion!
  22. Have a look at: www.tumleylofts.co.uk/widowhood.htm there are many feeding and watering techniques but this is what we do every week of the year. We don't use any medication.
  23. We used to put garlic cloves in the water not crushed and leave them in there all the time, they used to start growing in the summer and we found that very good but now we use Garlic, Parsley and Linseed oil that's made for horses put some of this on the food how often you like and the birds look very well on it. Clean and easy to use as it has a pump dispenser.
  24. We clean out under our floor grills one a year, actually this weekend coming as it happens! We don't put anything on the floor or on the droppings. If you have good ventilation you shouldn't get any mold growth and the droppings/floor keeps dry after a week or so build up.
  25. Thanks, the birds are coming through the moult nice now. I'm always very happy when we have a good moult, it must mean the birds are ok and will be ready in time for breeding again!!!! Cheers
