George, Thanks for your comments but you did not mention my MAIN CONCERN which is that the English Old Bird Racing from Fraserburgh & Thurso is still going on when we start racing our young birds and this influences the race controllers decision to liberate worrying about when the birds above us are being released. I would still have 2 Brechins & 2 Perths to start with to help educate our Young Birds but the most important thing is for us to start on the 26th of July next year to keep clear of the English Birds. I would prefer 7 races for the Young Birds but it is up to the FED members to decide.

I would like to hear PB members views on the following. We had 11 old bird races starting on Saturday 20th April 2013 and had our last old bird race on Sunday 30th June. Our Young Bird programme has 9 races with our first race on Saturday 13th July from Brechin and due to us having such a short time between our OB & YB races it does not give our members much time to train their young birds after the old birds have finished. During our first 2 young bird races we have English old bird racing still going on from Fraserburgh & Thurso and also some of our members are still competing in the SNFC. IN MY OPINION next year we should start old bird racing one week later on Saturday 26th April and revert back to 7 young bird races starting on Saturday 26th July as this would give the members extra time for training and also help the race controller concentrate on the young birds instead of having to worry about the English Feds. above us. If we have only one young bird race from Brechin next year on the 26th July we would get about 2500 birds and just have the lorry going down once instead of 3 times which will happen this year. It looks like the first 2 young bird races this year are not going to be well supported as there was only 1150 birds at the first race and we will be lucky if we get 750 birds this week. Thank You George Duthie
