  4. chris i bought jan ardens last year weren't raced but this year i will give them a try. when pigeon men come in my garden they look at my birds and out of them all its always the ardens they pick out, and can i just say they are beautiful birds and worth every penny, but i will see what there like racing. louella do good deals. and breed very good birds
  5. tammy i suffer with pfl and was told to get rid of the birds, but instead i opened my lofts up and have loads of ventilation, but the main thing and ive had all the masks but still cough my inside out all night when i went home, until i bought a bradwest 2 mask and its the best 100 quid ive ever spent i breath better no coughing no pains in the chest, so if this is the mask you haven't got do your self a favour buy one worth every penny all my mates laugh at me most of them are coughing and barking now and they say its to late for me, let me tell you its never to late.

    what if

i haven't flown a race yet but keeping them in would kill me, i love to see them happy and clapping about, but not leting them out there would be alot would wrap in, in my area alone, loads of lads want to no have to win races as they sell thousands of pounds worth of younguns every year, it would certaintly kill the sport for the big men and all the studs as no one would be buying birds either

    good luck

yes unc is on today bubwith or selby which is about 80 odd miles, i didnt send as my yearlings weren't trained as young birds, but hope to get them on the races as they come back up the country, and glad now i didnt send, as there was a frost over night the ground is white,
  8. i was trying to think of away of catching my youngbirds when they go through the trap on race days, before they get into the loft, and you've just solved my problem jimmy thanks
  9. preliminary tests say bird flu is in scotland, on ten oclock news, one swan has been found with it, but it was a migratory swan, in a 3 mile radius poultry has been order in doors, lets hope its the first and last
  10. I wear a loft coat birds are ok with it if i wear anything else they are a bit flighty, but i also wear a mask as the dust gets on my chest , and not one of you have mentioned it, you must not have chest problems, if you do get a mask, vanity is not going to help your breathing.
  11. I put mine over 26 days, let them out the next day, when i did they walked around the garden they even had a splash in the bath, put a sputnick or aviary on the window they will sit there allday looking around, and you won't lose many if any i never have, good luck aarden
  12. That would be expensive southbankhs was it, i bought a 500mlli bottle 20 quid but it didnt tell you how much to put in, if i use a glassfull per drinker it will be only 2 drinkers, i suppose mine was expensive, yours will pay for itself,
  13. I did buy a bottle but have'nt used it yet, have you noticed any changes, and how much do you put in a drinker, i did hear one lad who used it last year and he had his best season ever.
  14. I would say no 8 racer breeder no6 good racer no10 racer all good racers though but sorry to say, i dont like no 5 at all, thats only my opinion and its probably wrong, what are the best ones, and which are the breeders, roamer 1 will you let us know

    control?

westy pigeons are like any other animals or pet you give it a flick or a kick, they certaintly will think twice about coming to you, on race day and you are nice to your birds they will want to come home, give it a flick and it could be the first bird to the loft, but when it comes home it will just fly around scared to come down and that could be your combine winner, treat them nice and they will come home to the home and owner they love, im afraid your so called pigeon friends have said that because your a potential threat to them, you do what you think is right, nice people get nice rewards, i pick mine up from 7 days old and give a stroke under the chin, about 3 times a day
  16. Right snowy, i dont use maize but if it keeps them warm i will get some thanks
  17. Im flying natural and my window are open to the elements, what do you class as a draft, and do you think this time of year i should cover my windows, i have a 2 inch gap around the roof of my loft as well as open windows do you think its to cold, if you can suggest anything i will be grateful thank you, bruno i will keep an eye on it

    DMG

Sbelbin, I've heard of DMG but nobody uses it. At least that's what they say. They say there is two different kinds, one with glucose and one without. Is it on the carton or is there a certain make that I need? I know lots of lads who use glucose but as this is my first year of racing i would like to give DMG a try. Could you recommend a make of DMG without glucose and where to buy it as you seem to think it's good stuff? Thanks mate Yours in sport Ray
