funny how they could not see the difference of actualy catching a live bird in the same trap , just showes how bloody stupid they are .

he is nothing to our hobby ,we should all vote him out ,

it still amounts to the same thing ,they had to sacrifice a number of pigeons ,ie, sit back and let it happen .it would have been easier to use a live one in a trap that could not be got at ,but the country is run by nob heads that know sod all about our hobby or the wild life .but they are still aloud to cause cruelty and suffering .and get away with it as always ,

read about it in this weeks BHW ,it just shows that we are not ever going to be taken seriously ,why did they have to use live pigeons for the research ,it shows that the RSPB are nothing but a uncareing bunch ,so why should we listen to what ever they have to say ,just do the right thing and sort any probs with BOP your self ,after all it works .

other owls yes ,they probibly see them as a threat because they hunt at night as well so they would come across them regular,but they dont go out of there way to keep taking birds of prey like most on this site seem to think .other wise where they are in big numbers in other countrys ,they would be killing all the other bop in big numbers ,and they would soon become a nusance .just like the BOP are in this country.

they dont go out to prey on bop ,they will only kill them if they want to take over a nesting site,

eagle owls wont do any thing to our advantage any way ,its all tall stories.

that is the achilles heel of old percy ,he likes to eat a lot of his meals in the same place ,i just hope he never finds a carcase with any thing on it waiting for him ,

there is a big big difference between a captive way of hunting to the real thing .how do you know it was not fast enough or just having a bad day ,they catch more by tail chasing than they do by stooping ,other wise we would see more of it because of the amount of percys that are out there .

give the hawks a taste of pure sheep dip ,better than any medicine .

no just pointing out that things happen on a regular basis ,but if your not out there to see it happen day in day out then it takes some believeing .

then i will have to stop smoking this stuff ,im starting to see things that cant and dont happen ,and so should a few others that have been with me over a number of years ,i will also tell my pigeons to fly at 20ft of the ground ,so they will never have to worry about percy ,lol,ATB les. ps ,the fastest land animal we have in this country is a deer ,how come my6year old 20inch bedlinton x whippet has caught over 300 of them ,and they average 40 to 100lb in weight ??????

if those that dought that percy cant catch a pigeon in level flight ,then how do juvenile percys catch there prey ie pigeons ,it takes a lot of learning to dive from above and get things right ,its some thing they have to learn over a period of a few seasons ,it is one way of hunting for them ,if they had to rely on it ,then they would starve .

most people dont even see a percy take their pigeons at level flight ,because it is over in a few seconds ,they take it straight to the ground or cover ,when you see percy up high he is just looking ,and seeing what is available ,why is it that you see NOW AND AGAIN a vid on you tube how a pigeon got away from percy ,only because it dont happen very often ,if it did happen more often ,then puting vids on would not be interesting would it ???

total rubbish ,if your up for it ,i will show you time and time again how they do it ,then show you how to stop them from ever doing it again .

i wish it was a sport ,then we could get rid of all BOP that was interfering with our sport legaly ,but like i said its only reconised as a hobby .

then please explain how me and a friend has sat for weeks studying percys ,[before they are moved]and watch them time and time again catch up with racing pigeons from a standing start , on a level flight and take them with ease ,all this rubbish about diving at hundreds of miles a hour is how they always get their prey is just to make them sound so good and brillant to joe public because what else has it got going for it ,nothing ,,IB give me a answer to this ,how many percys have you seen take pigeons ,and have you ever sat at a site for days on end and studied them ,

no i made it up ,its a pity your pigeons cant speek ,then you just might take notice and learn ,instead of not beliving just like most on every pigeon forum ,they just dont want to see what realy goes on in the big wide world of nature , .pigeons are only fast with a tail wind ,

go and sit near a percys nest that is on the line of flight ,you will see for your self ,i have seen it happen dozens of times ,just remember pigeons get tired the further they go ,and they will always come across a fresh percy on their way home from racing or training ,or flying for a hour around the loft ,that is why most of the time one pigeon goes missing out of the bunch ,even a sparrow hawk can catch a pigeon in a strait flight ,only very exceptional fit or lucky pigeons get away ,that is why we are loosing so many pigeons ,other wise we would not be that botherd about hawks if they could only catch by stooping alone .think about it .

one other thing ,if you get a pigeon killed by a sparrow hawk ,and it is thinking of coming back for another feed ,put salt on the dead pigeon ,and you wont see the sparrow hawk ever again if it has a few mouth fulls ,some thing to do with it not likeing the tast [or getting dehidrated because hawks dont drink very much water ]making its system shut down .i always put it down to not liking the taste ;D ;D

a percy can catch a pigeon in a level flight ,easy ,the stoop is only a tacktic it uses along with a lot of other tacktics,
