No no offence. I am just advising that somtimes when judging through wires you can see a skinny bird does not look like it has balance in the hand and the main thing is the balance of the pigeon. And yeah your right they can look to fat but its harder too tell to fat than it is too skinny. Its just getting the correct wieght for size and then the balance thats all.
Also keep feeding them the same. look good to me. People for get that showing weight is diff from racing weight. No judge wants to handle a too keely bird. Also its through wires so no need to change. Just a good tonic in water 2 days before show and the seed too
Reason I say leave them as the rest dont look like they'd beat what you already have in so no point stressing birds in pen. Leave for another day. Got bit of experience with shows and if no 8 goes in clean and sound will take ticket.
Just want to say they are a disgrace... My father has arranged three times for birds in Portsmouth to be picked up and brought to Edinburgh and THREE times they have failed to come collect and giving excuse about admin problems. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! Its now Friday and these pigeons will need to wait til monday now to be picked up for tuesday delivery. The man in Portsmouth has stayed in his house three times with birds boxed up and waiting?? So prob had days off work too. Is there any reliable couries who deliver Edinburgh are??
Thanks
I have same loft size and have 4 5ft Sections with a 4 ft roofed avairy at the end. I board up avairy in winter and use to bath my racers that I show in winter months, also helps keep the little warmth there is stay in loft
We have stayed the same. Sadly only 6 lofts though. There was a possibility of maybe needing to join up with other local club but we are ok for time being. Just hope it can last a while. Think there used to be around 20 lofts at one time a few years back. Shame
Big white flight cock 3 rd down list is a cracker. I have Delbars Dordins and Jan ardens in my team...Race and show so all round performers. Nice birds matey
